Bethany Joy Lenz got her start on the soap opera Guiding Light. She played Michelle Bauer for two years. But her big break came when she was cast on the teen drama One Tree Hill. She played Haley James Scott for all nine seasons. Bethany Joy Lenz starred in numerous Hallmark and Lifetime movies.
She was cast as the lead on Hallmark’s Hope Valley:1874. The When Calls The Heart prequel follows Bethany Joy Lenz’s character, Rebecca, as she makes a new life for herself as a widowed single mother in Hope Valley. Season 1 premiered to rave reviews in March. The popular show returns in 2027 with Season 2.
Bethany Joy Lenz Reveals Shocking New Career
Hope Valley:1874 is expected to resume filming for Season 2 later this year. In the meantime, Bethany Joy Lenz revealed a shocking new career. The actress took to social media to tease new music. She shared a video of her performing an original song at Nashville’s famous Bluebird Cafe.
“Yeah, so, I wrote this for every girl who understands this song,” she said about her new song “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.” She previously released the single “Strawberries” in 2023 and released an album in 2025 with her One Tree Hill co-star Tyler Hilton.
Bethany Joy Lenz’s character on the teen drama was written as a professional singer after the show’s creator found out that the actress could sing. Fans were ecstatic at the prospect of new music. They took to the comments to share their excitement.
