Amy Duggar has spoken to her cousin, Joseph’s alleged teenage victim, and she has a lot to say about what happened. Amy Duggar Gets Her Moment
In March 2026, Joe Duggar was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor while on vacation in Florida. She was just nine years old when this allegedly took place, and it led to his wife, Kendra, also getting arrested. Since his brother, Joshua Duggar, was serving time for child pornography, it was not so much of a surprise. Followers had long felt that there was something off with the family and that they were all hiding bad behavior. Joe and Josh’s cousin, Amy Duggar, has always spoken up and out. She has since spoken to Joe’s victim and let her know how “strong” she was and is.
Amy understood how hard it was for the victim to come forward and let her know how brave she was to do so. She is now 14 and wanted to encourage her to feel good about her choice:
“ … I said [to the alleged victim], ‘You speaking out and you being so honest and vulnerable, knowing the backlash, and knowing the people that would turn their backs on you and not believe you and all the things,’ I was like, ‘You are such a strong person, you are such a strong person’… I hope she sleeps at night; I hope she finds healing.”
There is so much that young people go through, especially when it comes to a public figure. However, Amy Duggar has been through this before with Joshua, so she understands exactly what this girl is feeling. She also encouraged her to go to counseling and speak out about what she was feeling. Finally, it does not appear that the alleged victim is part of the Institute of Basic Life Principles (IBLP) church. Yet, she does have friends in it who may have made her feel like this is her fault. It is not.
Shaming Amy
After followers heard what Amy Duggar had to say, they were mixed in their feelings. It seemed that many felt it was time she stayed silent. She always has an opinion on what her family does, which is fine. However, it seems that some are just exhausted by her:
