Kirsten Storms has gone through a lot over the past few years. Taking to social media, she took time to address fan comments, all while issuing a call to her followers. Through it all, she also did it with a brand new look.
Kirsten Storms First Became Part Of General Hospital In 2005
Storms has had a prolific career as an actress. However, one of her biggest roles is playing Maxie Jones on General Hospital. She took over the role in 2005. She was promoted to a full series regular the following year.
Of course, Storms has appeared in multiple roles over the years. Days of Our Lives fans may also remember her as Isabella “Belle” Black from 1999 to 2004.
As fans know, Storms left Los Angeles in the summer of 2025, relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, with her daughter. She filmed her final scenes in Port Charles in June of last year before announcing her exit from the soap.
In a recent post on Instagram, Storms discussed this move and defended leaving California behind. She expressed, “Despite everything that’s been going on in my life right now (…and I will be honest, it’s more than upsetting) – I still feel that the move to Tennessee was the best choice for me.”
As the post alluded to, Storms had been through a lot over the past few months. Back in April, news had come out that her ex, Brandon Barash, had filed a restraining order against her, with a judge approving the emergency order at the time. She has also endured various health issues over the past years, including a brain aneurysm.
The Actress Noted That One Thing Proved To Her That There Was More To Her Than Her Acting Career
Storms admitted, “I might not be at the *best part* of this choice yet, but LA never felt like my real home. I’m grateful and really f*ing proud of the accomplishments I’ve achieved during my acting career, however my career started before I was out of elementary school.”
Storms mused on some envy over people living in the “real world.” While assuring that she didn’t want to be offensive or ungrateful to the career she’s had, she felt, “that life became the ONLY thing I knew how to do. Or thought I was capable of.” However, she felt that this changed with the birth of her daughter, Harper.

Storms didn’t want to discuss her health concerns and admitted that there was “an ongoing situation with Brandon” that was being sorted out. Ultimately, she maintained a positive attitude, while asking “that the speculation on this issue please stop.”
However, Storms ended the lengthy post acknowledging a certain elephant in the room: her new look, which she shared in a photo. As she noted, “Also, yes, I have black hair and bangs. I’m kinda dig.”
