Time may have passed, but that doesn’t mean feelings do. Courtney Stodden has taken to her social media to discuss a photo that was taken of her when she was just 17 years old. Looking back, it makes her pretty uncomfortable. Keep reading to find out what has Courtney so upset.
Courtney Stodden Calls Out Jason Alexander
At just 16 years old, Courtney Stodden became famous when she married 51-year-old Doug Hutchison. The pair has since split; however, Courtney has continued to make a name for herself after appearing on several shows including Celebrity Big Brother (UK), Couples Therapy, The Mother/Daughter Experiment, and the docuseries Courtney.
Now, Courtney is taking a look back at her life and calling out men she feels have wronged her by exploiting her. As previously reported, she made a post about Dr. Drew for showing her breasts on live TV. On her social media, she shared pictures and screenshots of herself on the show, writing a painful caption about what this really was.
“Dr. Drew had me on his show when I was 16 and had me undergo an ultrasound to see if my breasts were real or if I was lying about my breasts. I wasn’t an underage girl. I was a minor trapped in a situation that I wasn’t able to get out of legally,” she writes.
She goes on to explain that the money he paid her for that show went straight to her abuser.
Now, she’s bringing up another painful situation. This time it’s about Jason Alexander.
Calling Out Jason Alexander
According to Page Six, Courtney is sharing more traumatizing stories from her teen years. In this new post, she shared a photo of Jason Alexander holding an iPhone against her breast. She explains exactly what is going on in the picture in her caption.
I was 17 years old in this photo. The older I get, the more impossible this is to understand. During this comedy sketch, Jason Alexander repeatedly rubbed his phone across my breasts while saying there was “no signal” in my head but “plenty of signal” in my chest. Later in the sketch, he joked that when I turned 18 he’d like to take me behind the couch and “have his way” with me.
Courtney continues to talk about how young she was and how many adults were there that failed her.
“At 17, I was a minor working in an environment where the adults around me were responsible for my safety and well-being. Looking back as an adult, I see those experiences very differently than I did at the time.”
Now, she’s speaking out. She says that she wants to make sure that this doesn’t happen to other children.
“My reason for speaking out now isn’t about revisiting the past for its own sake … it’s about helping create a future where children are better protected and where adults in positions of power are held to a higher standard,” she says.
Jason Responds
Of course, Jason Alexander has responded. He says he truly regrets doing what he did.
“Looking back at the comedy sketch in which Ms. Stodden and I participated in 2012, I completely agree that it was inappropriate and I truly regret it,” he says “But more importantly, I am deeply sorry for any harm or distress it has caused Ms. Stodden,” he added. “I offer her my sincerest apologies.”
