Recently, during the program, Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Roberts shared something surprising about Al Roker’s spouse, Deborah Roberts.
Deborah Roberts Was Name-Dropped During A Recent Episode Of Today During A Discussion About A Pop Star
Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones currently host the fourth hour of Today. Functioning as a “show-within-a-show” of sorts, it focuses on entertainment, fashion, and other similar topics.
Recently, on the show, the hosts discussed another prominent journalist, Deborah Roberts. Roberts is notably married to their Today co-star Al Roker, having tied the knot with the weatherman in 1995.
During the Friday episode, the duo discussed how pop star Zara Larsson recently sold several items from her personal wardrobe through the Depop website. Jones asked her co-star, “It got us to thinking, if you could shop in a celebrity’s closet, who would that celebrity be?”
Initially, Jones suggested Tracee Ellis Ross. She shared, “I think she has a gorgeous wardrobe,” with Jenna calling her look, “Chic.”
A Few Personalities From Another Talk Show Also Shared That They Were Fans Of Roberts’ Style
It was then that Sheinelle mentioned her fellow journalist. She shared, “You know who else wears great clothes? I mean, it, like, fits my arm. Al Roker‘s wife, Deborah Roberts. Shout-out to Deborah Roberts.”
Jenna then noted that Roberts actually does a “sample sale” already. Sheinelle then explained, “She believes in purging and not having too much stuff. So, every year — she won’t mind us saying, ‘cause she’s talked about it — she gives away a bunch of her clothes, or she sells them.”
For her part, Sheinelle would like to buy pieces from Roberts’ closet. Since they already are connected, Jenna mused, “Can we go to that? Let’s go to that.” Sheinelle agreed, “Oh, yeah. We have colleagues who have gone.”
As noted by Page Six, Roberts’ most recent charity clothing sale was this past December. At the time, it made headlines as The View‘s Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin reportedly purchased many of the items before the sale began, to the disappointment of other attendees.
That same month, Sunny Hostin discussed the sale on the Behind the Table podcast. She shared, “In our defense, we bought a few things, but not as much as Lara Spencer. And Joy did get a lot of stuff.” Behar noted that she purchased “four things,” and that there were “many more things.” She also called “one of the best dressed people at ABC.” After this, Behar quipped, “Not anymore. She’s giving it all away.”
