Tottenham face Sydney FC in the Sydney Super Cup as they continue their preparations for the new Premier League season.
Spurs have enjoyed a strong pre-season so far, following up a 1-0 win over MK Dons with a 2-0 victory against A-League champions Auckland FC at Eden Park.
Dane Scarlett and Richarlison were on target for Roberto De Zerbi’s men, who are hoping to get back to the right end of the Premier League table in 2026-27 after successive 17th-placed finishes.
They have invested heavily in the transfer window to bolster De Zerbi’s squad, which will be expected to have too much for Sydney at Accor Stadium.
Sydney finished fifth in the A-League last season but went on to reach the Grand Final, losing 1-0 to Auckland.
With a subsequent game against Chelsea likely to prove a better test for Tottenham ahead of the new campaign, De Zerbi may lean on some of the more inexperienced members of his team for this one.
De Zerbi said of the aims for their games Down Under: “We are looking Improve our physical condition, improve our level of play, improve the connection between the players and the relationship with the players in these days in New Zealand and Australia
“It’s important we go to play in front of our fans, because Tottenham have fans everywhere in the world.”
