Beginning his journey as a young boy commuting from Dombivli to Mumbai’s legendary cricket grounds, Rahane’s rise to the top was built on pure grit and relentless hard work. After making his debut for the national side in 2011, he went on to represent India in 85 Tests, 90 ODIs, and 20 T20Is.
Rahane became the cornerstone of India’s overseas Test successes. His remarkable century at Lord’s in 2014 and his extraordinary leadership during the historic 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy victory in Australia, where he captained a depleted Indian side to a famous series win—remain etched in cricketing folklore. Beyond international duties, he remained a loyal servant to Mumbai domestic cricket, leading them with distinction, and left a lasting imprint across multiple Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises.
