Kelly Clarkson has some big changes going on this year. Her talk show has come to an end, with filming wrapping earlier this summer. Now, details of her time on the show are coming out. Keep reading to find out what we know so far.
Kelly Clarkson’s Show Ends
Ever since her big American Idol win all the way back in 2002, Kelly Clarkson has worked hard to keep making a name for herself. She’s released music, done concerts, been a judge on The Voice, and in 2019 she even got to start The Kelly Clarkson Show. The hit talk show even ended up winning Emmy awards. However, all good things must come to an end. The show finally wrapped filming this June, and the last episode will air in the fall.
Because she’s no longer employed by NBC, it seems she feels free to say whatever she wants. As previously reported, she’s even joked at concerts about being fired by the network.
“I would get fired by NBC, but I don’t work there anymore,” she said during one of her shows.
Of course, she also mentioned that it was a fun show and she was sad it was over. But it seems she’s been speaking pretty freely. However, now sources report that that’s how she’s always been, even when she was told to follow a script.
Saying Whatever She Wants
According to Yahoo!, Kelly had a reputation while on the show that she would go off script. So, her comments on stage are not at all shocking to the people she worked with.
“Kelly’s comments come as no surprise to those who were aware of what was going on behind the scenes,” a source says.
They then explain that she would usually go off script, resulting in a talk with producers after filming.
“She had to stick to the script to a certain extent, but most of the time would actually go off script — and then she’d hear it from producers afterwards,” they reveal.
However, despite her tendency to go rogue, everyone really appreciated the hard work she put in. Especially because it’s not easy to film that many episodes for so long.
“It’s not easy for anyone to take on this role, but she did a great job, and everyone who worked with her really did enjoy working with her,” the source continues.
Apparently, she is really sweet in person, which can be attributed to her country upbringing.
“Just like they say — you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.”
