Kelly Osbourne and musician Sid Wilson first met in 1999 at Ozzfest. They remained friends for decades. Their relationship turned romantic in 2022, and they welcomed a son together that same year. The Slipknot DJ proposed at Ozzy Osbourne’s final show in Birmingham, England, in 2025. However, the engagement didn’t last long. Now, Sid Wilson has reportedly left the popular band after nearly three decades. Keep reading for all the details.
Kelly Osbourne’s Ex-Fiance Kicked Out Of Popular Band After 28 Years
Slipknot was founded in 1995 with three members – Shawn Crahan, Paul Gray, and Anders Colsefni. By the time the band made their debut album in 1998, its members had expanded to 9, including Sid Wilson, the band’s DJ and keyboardist. Slipknot has seen many members come and go over the last 20+ years.
Craig Jones, Chris Fehn, and Jay Weinberg were let go. Joey Jordison passed away in his sleep in 2021, and Paul Gray died from a drug overdose in 2010. But the band continued on after the heartbreaking losses. They remain one of the most popular heavy metal bands nearly three decades after their debut.
But now they’ve reportedly lost another band member. TMZ broke the news that Sid Wilson was “permanently” removed from the band after 28 years. No reason was given for the shocking turn of events.

Slipknot Band Member Breaks Silence On Firing
Sid Wilson was there for Kelly Osbourne when she lost her beloved father to a heart attack. Ozzy Osbourne passed away in July 2025, just weeks after his final performance with Black Sabbath. It was backstage at the concert that Sid Wilson asked Kelly Osbourne to marry him. But news broke in March 2026 that the couple had called off their engagement after eight months. They continue to co-parent their son, Sidney, 3.
Kelly Osbourne’s former fiance hasn’t spoken out about his alleged firing. However, another member of Slipknot shared a dire warning with fans. “Don’t believe everything you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information,” Jim Root wrote on an Instagram Story shortly after TMZ published the bombshell report on the firing.
Jim Root’s post alludes to more to the story than what TMZ reported. Or perhaps even that the story was wrong and Sid Wilson is still very much a member of Slipknot. For now, TMZ is standing by its story. Stay tuned for more details on the shocking situation.
