Claressa Shields says she wants Beyoncé to walk her out to the boxing ring for a fight before she retires. The professional boxer made the revelation during a hilarious interview on ‘The Lou Young Show‘ on Monday, August 10, and fans are in stitches.
Shields was asked who the top five influential women she’d like to walk her out to the boxing ring before a fight, and she quickly responded that Beyoncé would be the first.
“Let me tell you something,” she said. “Beyoncé comes first. Nobody is above Beyoncé.”
Then Shields looked into the camera and addressed the singer directly.
“Beyoncé, before I retire, I need you to walk me out,” she added. “By the time, I, when I’m retiring at 38. So whenever you find the time in your busy, beautiful schedule…”
Young interjected to joke, “I just I know I can’t walk with Beyoncé cuz that that she probably has extra security.”
Shields was interrupted and asked what song she wanted to walk out to, and she replied, “Whatever song Beyoncé choose.”
Shields Also Listed Serena Williams And Retired Boxer Ann Wolfe
The boxing pro also listed tennis star Serena Williams during the interview.
“Two, Serena Williams,” she said as the hosts seemed unimpressed. “Come on now. That woman can have a tennis racket in her hand and hit the ball and then go into a split.”
Shields also noted Academy-Award-winning actresses Viola Davis and Angela Bassett, as well as retired boxer Ann Wolfe.
“Ann Wolfe,” she said. “That’s a boxer. It’s a powerhouse. She to me was better than Leila Ali.”
