Matt Lucas co-hosted The Great British Baking Show (known as The Great British Bake Off in the U.K.) for three seasons. However, he left the show because it interfered with other projects he wanted to do. The comedian is most famous for the British comedy series Little Britain, which he created and performed with David Williams.
He portrayed many characters in the sketch comedy. Vicky Pollard was one of the most popular and the one who landed him in trouble with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown. The comedian wrote Vicky Pollard’s catchphrase, “no but yeah but,” on a photo of Millie Bobby Brown. She responded by calling out online bullies. He quickly apologized, saying it was a misunderstanding.

Matt Lucas has been on a weight loss journey for several years now. He spoke out in 2022 about what led to his decision to drop the pounds. “I’m 48, my dad died when he was 52 very suddenly, his dad died I think at 56, so I was looking at the law of averages here,” he said at the time. He’d already gone from a size XXXL to an XXL. And now he’s lost even more.
The British Baking Show host lost all of his hair when he was six. He’s been open about his battle with alopecia. So that’s why fans were surprised to see him with facial hair during an appearance on the British news program The One Show. Matt Lucas sported a goatee.
“I’m growing this bizarre beard,” he told the host. He said that he stopped shaving a few weeks ago to see what would happen. The goatee happened and fans were shocked.
