After months of speculation, ABC confirmed that The View will return this fall. The popular daytime talk show celebrates a milestone 30th season, but which hosts are returning? Keep reading to find out amid rumors of an on-screen shake-up.
The View Season 30 Hosts Revealed Amid Shake-Up Rumors
Earlier this year, the FCC launched an investigation into The View earlier this year. The talk show may have broken the “equal time” rule by hosting a Democratic political candidate but not his opponents. The “equal time” rule requires equal time for all candidates, regardless of party. However, The View insists it is exempt from the rule because of its status as a “bona fide” news program.
The FCC is challenging that. ABC filed a lawsuit claiming the FCC was infringing on the show’s First Amendment rights. The off-screen drama led to speculation that the show would be canceled or some of the more outspoken hosts fired. The lawsuit and investigation are ongoing, but ABC revealed the fate of The View.
It returns for Season 30 on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin are all back as hosts, despite shake-up rumors.
Even though the hosting panel will be the same, The View teased surprises for viewers.

Confirmed Guests, Surprises In Store
Barbara Walters created The View in 1997. She co-hosted the show for 17 seasons before retiring in 2014. The talk show has seen many hosts come and go over the last 30 seasons. Viewers are expecting a huge celebration in the upcoming season. Rosie O’Donnell fueled speculation by claiming that she was asked to return as a guest host. However, the show’s producer disputed that.
Another recent report claimed that former President Trump’s former press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, was in talks to join The View in some capacity. However, Radar Online reported that an ABC source denied those rumors to CNN’s Brian Stelter. “She would not be a guest host on the talk show or join in a more official capacity,” the source said. “While the show occasionally features guest hosts, that’s not what the outreach to [Karoline] Leavitt was about.”
ABC invoked Barbara Walters for the Season 30 promo. “Take a little time to enjoy The View,” she said in a throwback clip. “And if you think you know who will be here for our season premiere week, you’re about to be surprised,” the promo teased.
The guests for the Season 30 premiere haven’t been revealed yet. However, TV Insider revealed some of September’s upcoming guests. Actor Ethan Hawke, former NFL player Colin Kaepernick, and singer Lizzo are a few of the celebrity guests.
Tune in on Tuesday, September 8, for The View‘s return.
