England moved up to sixth place in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table after defeating Pakistan by 194 runs in the second Test at Lord’s. The victory gave England an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series and increased their points tally to 62, with their points percentage rising to 34.44.

Pakistan, meanwhile, remained at the bottom of the standings after suffering their second defeat of the series. Their PCT dropped from 19.05 to 16.67, leaving them with 16 points from eight matches in the current WTC cycle.

England move above Sri Lanka after Lord’s victory

England’s latest victory lifted them one place in the WTC standings, with the hosts moving ahead of Sri Lanka into sixth position. England now have 62 points from 15 matches, although their 14-point deduction continues to impact their PCT. Ollie Robinson was instrumental in the victory at Lord’s, taking eight wickets across the match. His second-innings figures of 4/24 helped England bowl Pakistan out for 194 while defending 389, despite Saud Shakeel’s determined 97.

England have four Tests remaining in the current WTC cycle, but their chances of reaching the final remain slim. Their qualification hopes are also dependent on results elsewhere, with India currently sitting above them in fifth place on a PCT of 51.52.

Pakistan remain at the bottom of the standings

Pakistan endured another difficult Test against England, being dismissed for 110 in the first innings before falling short while chasing a target of 389. Shakeel provided the main resistance with a fighting 97, but the rest of the batting order struggled against England’s pace attack.

The defeat left Pakistan with only two wins from eight matches in the current WTC cycle. Their 16 points and PCT of 16.67 place them ninth in the standings, with West Indies currently above them on 20.83%. At the top of the table, Australia continue to lead with 96 points and a PCT of 80.00. South Africa and New Zealand occupy second and third place respectively, while Bangladesh and India complete the top five.
