OTTAWA — Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne will announce an extension of the gas tax holiday during a press conference in Ottawa today.
The Liberals temporarily suspended the federal 10-cent excise tax on a litre of gas in April when the war in Iran spiked global fuel prices.
The excise tax suspension was originally supposed to end after Labour Day but a government official confirms the tax will not be reimposed next week.
More coming.
