This is because Carrie made a deal with producers in order to stay. She did not want to be far away from her kids anymore. Also, some fans feel as though there is not as much talent as there had been in past seasons. This was hard for them to see, as usually there is an abundance of talent.

David Archuleta was a runner-up on American Idol. However, he still got a lot of fame from the show. He has revealed in his new memoir that after he got famous, he chose to be homeless. This shocked a lot of people, and some did not understand why he would do this. However, he went into detail about why he felt it was something he had to do.
“I didn’t feel like I deserved to take care of myself. So even though I was having a lot of success in public, I was sleeping in my car a lot of times because that’s what I believed I deserved,”
The family member he was living with, he did not get along with anymore. However, he could have afforded to stay in a hotel, but didn’t. This is what shocked fans. However, it was the thoughts in his head that led him to believe this was what he had to do.
It seems as though David Archuleta did not believe that he deserved to be anywhere but his car. He was dealing with thoughts that led him to think this. However, he realizes now that they were not true. Fans feel bad that he felt this way after getting such fame. However, the truth is, he was going through a really difficult time and did not know how to handle it.
