This will be one ‘nasty’ that Second Sight Films will hope you’ll add to your Physical media collection, Possession. Andrzej Żuławski’s seminal film is a horror film like no other and next month it will get a new 4K UHD release
The seminal film is an intense and shocking experience that was originally banned in the UK and placed on the notorious ‘Video Nasties’ list. Despite the ban it was nominated for a Palme d’Or, the pivotal film stars Isabelle Adjani (Subway, La Reine Margot), in a truly formidable performance as a woman spiralling out of control as her marriage breaks down. That saw her win two Best Actress awards, at Cannes Film Festival and the Césars. Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), gives a powerful turn as the husband, struggling to deal with the devastation of a failing relationship. The film is made even more intense, with awe-inspiring special effects from FX maestro and three-time Oscar® winner Carlo Rambaldi (Alien, E.T).
The Limited Dual Edition Box Set comes complete with a slew of special features. The set is presented in a striking rigid slipcase with Basha’s original theatrical artwork and a 220-page hardback book and comes with a slew of compelling features and much more.
Synopsis: With their marriage in tatters Anna (Adjani) and Mark’s (Neill) tense relationship has become a psychotic descent into screaming matches, violence and self-mutilation. Believing his wife’s only lover is the sinister Heinrich, Mark is unaware of the diabolical, tentacled creature that Anna has embarked on an affair with. The unhinged woman visits her monstrous lover in a deserted Berlin apartment and will stop at nothing to protect him. With its dark subject matter and high gore quotient, Possession will have you firmly in its grip and is not for the faint hearted.
Take Possession of this must own Limited Edition, a screamingly disturbing bonafide classic.
