Andy Cohen Credits Bravo For Weight Loss Drug Influence

Andy Cohen has one memory to keep for life during his time on “The Valley.”

The television personality may have caused a few ruckuses with his tricky questions during the reunion show, but he left the set with a firm resolve to lead a healthy life.

Andy Cohen has maintained a transparent approach to his diet and fitness endeavors over the years, including his reliance on Ozempic to shed a few pounds over the summer.

The 57-year-old detailed his experience moderating the reunion for the second season of “The Valley.” He did not like the feedback he received from the screens about his physique.

As soon as Cohen finished hosting the episode, he knew it was time for him to switch up his fitness regimen. Describing it as a “great jumpstart,” Cohen revealed that it had progressed to the point where his clothes no longer fit, and he decided to join the Ozempic trend. 

The TV host explained to the hosts of “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” that he was micro-dosing on GLP to help him get past the initial phase, and now he has settled on a much healthier approach to staying fit.

“But it was a great fitness journey for me as well, and I’m just being so much more deliberate about what I put in my mouth and how I work out, and I’m lifting heavier weights, and it’s been great,” Cohen added.

Aside from the trouble fitting into his clothes and not liking what he saw in the mirror, Cohen shared on his “Radio Andy” show that he also had some health issues necessitating his decision.

As reported by The Blast, the 57-year-old revealed that medics found plaque in his arteries and also diagnosed him with high blood pressure, which made it mandatory for him to shed some pounds and lead a healthier life.

The media personality had great feedback to share from his brief experience with the medication. Cohen affirmed that Ozempic helped curb his raging diet, which mostly revolved around unhealthy sugar cravings. The medication forced him to cultivate the habit of discipline with his diet and exercising.

The Bravo star acknowledged the nature of his career over the years and the reputation he has built for himself as the ultimate lie detector. He added that keeping mum about the reason behind losing 25 pounds would set a terrible precedent in his journey.

Cohen praised Ozempic for being a revolutionary drug and acknowledged his privilege in having access to the medication, which would have cost ordinary citizens thousands of dollars without insurance.

During his time hosting several “Real Housewives” franchise reunion shows, Cohen listened to confessions from several housewives about hopping on the Ozempic, Mounjaro train in 2022-2023.

During the reunion show for the 13th season of “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” which Cohen hosted and used to extract confessions from some of the cast members about Ozempic use, another housewife brought a deeper perspective.

According to PEOPLE, Jackie Goldschneider explained that while the usage of Ozempic is not a terrible idea, the after-effect of stopping the medication scared her. 

She noted that, as a recovering eating disorder patient herself, it gave her great concern to see studies showing that people tend to gain all the weight back after going off the drug. According to her:

“You’re going to have all these people who are addicted to being thin, who suddenly are saying, ‘Oh, my God, what do I do? How do I get back to being thin?.”

She emphasized that these realizations often lead to the development of several unhealthy habits, which can cause serious harm in the long run.

Before his famous confession about giving the weight-loss drug a trial, Cohen had previously made a post on X (formerly Twitter) about the influx of Ozempic usage among everyone.

Although “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” alum Jen Shah is nearing her release from jail, Cohen has expressed his lack of interest in ever setting eyes on her. Shah was sentenced to 78 months in prison for operating a nationwide telemarketing scheme that targeted the vulnerable and elderly for nearly 10 years.

The former reality star was reportedly one of the primary members of a fraud scheme that squeezed funds from thousands of innocent and vulnerable people, including the elderly.

In a behind-the-scenes clip from his “Watch What Happens Live” studio this month, Cohen told the audience that he was not interested in welcoming her back to the show. As of now, all indications suggest that the possibility of Shah ever returning to Bravo seems almost non-existent.

Her team has also clarified that, whatever happens, Shah and the Bravo producers are on very friendly terms and have both found a way to carry on with their lives without bitterness or chaos.
