Ang Lee’s critically acclaimed award winner The Ice Storm , making its UK Blu-ray and Digital premiere next month.
The film is based on the bestselling novel by Rick Moody of the same name. It charts the fallout of the sexual revolution in the stifled heart of Nixon-era suburbia. The all-star cast includes Kevin Kline (A Fish Called Wanda, The Big Chill), Joan Allen (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum), Sigourney Weaver (who won the 1998 BAFTA for Supporting Actress for her role), Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man, The Great Gatsby), Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets, Wednesday), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Monkey) and Katie Holmes (The Gift, Logan Lucky). The film won the Best Screenplay award at Cannes for James Schamus (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), and was nominated for the Palme d’Or.
Powerful, provocative and intensely moving, with a sweeping score by Mychael Danna (Oscar winner for his music for Lee’s Life of Pi), Lee’s beautifully made film is a masterclass in literate adult drama that resonates long after viewing. Don’t get left out in the cold – watch the 4K debut this November.
