The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) Canada office is strengthening its presence in the Quebec and Ottawa markets with the appointment of Sylvie Madore, President and CEO of La Tribu Gourmande, and Danièle Bouchard, Marketing Consultant, effective immediately.
The new representation reflects ABTA’s strategic investment in the French-speaking Canadian market, with a focused mandate to grow visits to the destination, deepen travel advisor engagement, and expand consumer awareness across Quebec and Ottawa.
Tameka Wharton, Director of Tourism, Canada, said that: “Quebec is a priority growth market for Antigua and Barbuda, and expanding our on-the ground presence is a strategic step forward. Sylvie and Danièle bring deep relationships, market intelligence, and credibility within the Quebec travel trade. Their expertise will allow us to strengthen advisor engagement, increase destination awareness, and accelerate growth in a market where we see strong long-term potential.”
Sylvie Madore brings extensive tourism industry expertise to the role. She began her career as a travel consultant before specializing in sales, marketing, and destination representation for tour operators, airlines, hotels, and tourism boards. Her portfolio has included representation for a range of international destinations in Canada.
Madore also brings experience in television production and concept development, offering a creative and strategic lens to destination promotion.
She observed: “Antigua and Barbuda is truly unique. It is a high-end destination that offers travellers 365 beautiful beaches, a strong sense of safety, and a boutique, pampered experience. Visitors feel at home under the sun, immersed in tropical beauty and authentic warmth. Our efforts are focused on strengthening demand in Quebec to support the case for future direct air service. We know there is strong appetite for this destination in Quebec.”
Danièle Bouchard contributes more than 30 years of experience in the travel industry. As founder of Quebec-based high-end tour operator Tour Vogue, she was a pioneer in promoting premium all-inclusive packages in the 1990s and has represented luxury hotels and destinations internationally.
Bouchard observed that: “We are entering an exciting period for the Quebec market. From honeymooners and couples to multi-generational families and millennial travellers seeking immersive experiences, there is growing demand for destinations that feel charming, walkable, culturally rich, and safe. Antigua and Barbuda offers romance, eco-tourism, history, adventure, and a warm welcome — all within an easy-to-navigate setting.”
