Apple introduced the iPhone 17e, the latest entry to the company’s ‘e’ series lineup. In Canada, the iPhone 17e starts at $899, with 256GB of storage and MagSafe. Pre-orders start March 4, and the handset releases on March 11.
The iPhone 17e sports the company’s A19 chipset for flagship-like performance, and the new C1X cellular modem designed by Apple. The handset also features a 48MP Fusion camera with 2x optical-quality telephoto. The 17e records video in 4K with Dolby Vision up to 60fps and records video in Spatial Audio for immersive listening.
Additionally, the iPhone 17e sports a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with Ceramic Shield 2, which offers 3x better scratch resistance than the previous generation. Additionally, it features up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness and Face ID to authenticate purchases and unlock your device. Like the other iPhone 17 series handsets, the 17e sports the Action button to set up shortcuts like flashlight or even Visual Intelligence.
And now the iPhone 17e sports MagSafe for fast wireless charging and enables compatibility with a lot of the accessories available for the company’s flagship devices. Apple says that the 17e can charge up to 50 per cent in around 30 minutes, and offers up to 15W wireless charging.
The device also has satellite features like Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages and Find My via satellite.
The iPhone 17e comes in black, white and soft pink. You can pre-order the iPhone 17e on Apple’s website.
