A listing for a new laptop has appeared on Apple’s website, suggesting a new, cheaper MacBook.
According to The Verge, a listing for the “MacBook Neo (Model A3404)” appeared on a regulatory page on Apple’s website under its lineup of 2026 laptops. The listing appeared on Tuesday, ahead of Apple’s announcement of new MacBooks.
First spotted by MacRumors, the listing appears to be an accident (aka someone accidentally hit publish) and has since been removed, but it may have leaked information about a rumoured entry-level MacBook.
As mentioned earlier, this isn’t the first time there have been whispers regarding a low-cost MacBook. Back in August, it came out that this rumoured new economic MacBook would be powered by the A18 Pro chip from the iPhone 16 Pro series. It is also slated to have a 13-inch screen, making it similar to the current MacBook Air.
As The Verge pointed out, the lower price and new design could help the new MacBook appeal to both students and casual laptop users, putting it in the same market as cheap Windows laptops and Chromebooks.
