Ariana Grande‘s vulnerable confessions continue, with a new interview capturing her complex relationship with fame.

Before becoming one of the most celebrated singers in the world, the Pop star started her career as an actress on Nickelodeon. She reflected on her rise to stardom, revealing that her relationship with music became complicated during this period.

Ariana Grande has been vocal about her relationship with music in new interviews, recently revealing that her 2026 Eternal Sunshine tour will be her last in the foreseeable future. Now, her primary goal is to focus on her acting career.

Grande got candid about her career in the latest issue of Interview Magazine. She sat down for a heart-to-heart interview with Hollywood icon Nicole Kidman, reflecting on how her return to acting has had a positive influence on her relationship with music.

When Kidman noted Grande had a big tour coming up, the “Side to Side” hitmaker confessed that the upcoming shows were smaller compared to past gigs. She explained that she was excited for the Eternal Sunshine tour “in a way that feels so different” from the past.

“I’ve just been healing my relationship to music and touring over the past couple of years,” Grande continued, sharing that she had spent a lot of time revamping her system when it came to making music. She added that time away from music helped her understand her relationship with fame and being an artist.

Grande told Kidman that acting played a key role in revamping her relationship with fame and music, saying: “I think my time with Glinda and with acting really helped me build the strength to be able to do that.”

“I can’t express how grateful I am. I think it just held some traumas for me before, and I feel those dissipating, and that is such an extraordinarily beautiful thing,” Grande added. She dived deeper into her complex relationship with music, reflecting on the beginning of her career.

Grande confessed that “there was a tricky adjustment period” when her pop music career kicked off in the beginning. She stressed that she wasn’t being ungrateful; however, her past self wasn’t ready for the drastic changes fame brought into her life.

The Grammy Award-Winning Musician Wasn’t Ready For Certain Aspects Of The Industry

Grande doubled down on being grateful for her achievements as a musician, noting her confessions stemmed from being unprepared for “certain pieces of it.” She confessed that it “became so exhausting” to shrug off her pain and pretend like she didn’t care.

“I just feel like should that dance have to be a part of being an artist, or should that just be put in a box far away from me, and I’ll just do my art and not let that ruin my relationship to it?” Grande said about the unflattering parts of the industry.

The entertainer’s confessions match the sentiments she shared in her recent appearance on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast. The Blast reported that the November 18 episode saw Grande declaring that her upcoming tour would be the last in the foreseeable future.

The Nickelodeon Alum Wants To Focus On Her Acting Career

Grande described her 2026 tour as “one last hurrah,” explaining that it would be good for her soul to focus on acting rather than music. She confessed that she craved new experiences, no matter how mundane, as long as they resonated with her.

The TV personality revealed that she was working on a new movie, claiming she chose the role because she fell in love with the script. She wanted to experience more moments like these, noting she didn’t mind taking minor roles in movies or shows she liked.

Grande’s decision to focus on acting came days before she shocked fans with a health update. The Blast shared that she broke the news on her Instagram Story, revealing that she had tested positive for COVID. The news sparked immediate changes to the “Wicked: For Good” press tour.

During the yellow carpet event for “Wicked: For Good” in Singapore, a viral celebrity crasher hopped over the barriers to reach the singer. The Blast covered the story, reporting that the intruder, Johnson Wen aka Pyjama Man, had wrapped his hand around Grande’s neck.

Wen pulled her close to him while jumping excitedly before Cynthia Erivo, and security got him away from Grande. He attempted to crash the carpet a second time before he was detained by security and blatantly posted a video of the incident on his social media platforms.

Compared to his past antics, Wen soon regretted targeting Grande as he was arrested by Singapore police and taken to court. The judge ruled that his actions must have consequences, giving Wen a nine-day jail sentence for being a public nuisance.
