Don’t expect a new Asus phone this year.
Speaking to Digitimes, the company confirmed that it has no plans for a new Android handset in 2026, opting instead to focus on “maintenance, software upgrades, and warranty services for all existing products.” That said, the company noted that its “smartphone operations will continue,” leaving the door open for new phones beyond this year.
This is a notable change from last year when the Taiwanese hardware giant released two handsets, the Zenfone 12 Ultra and the ROG Phone 9, the latter of which hasn’t officially come to Canada.
Of course, Asus will have many other non-phone devices this year, and we’ll no doubt see more of them this week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
