The five-match T20I series between Australia and India is poised on a knife’s edge as they head to the Carrara Oval, Queensland for the 4th T20I on November 6th. Following the first match being washed out, Australia took the lead by winning the second game. But India fought back in the third to level the series, setting the stage for a crucial contest.

Key adjustments to squads of both teams

Both Australia and India have made key adjustments to their squads ahead of their upcoming commitments, which are expected to influence team combinations and overall dynamics. Australia have released Travis Head to allow him to represent South Australia in the Sheffield Shield as part of his preparation for the Ashes Test series beginning on November 21. The decision, while leaving a void at the top of the order, aligns with the team’s broader focus on ensuring players are in top form for red-ball cricket. Under Mitchell Marsh’s leadership, Australia will now need to identify a new opener or rely on the explosive middle-order duo of Tim David and Marcus Stoinis to stabilize and accelerate the innings when required.

On the other hand, India have released Kuldeep Yadav so that he can join the India A squad for the second unofficial Test against South Africa A, emphasizing their commitment to strengthening red-ball readiness. In Kuldeep’s absence, the spin department will depend heavily on Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy to provide control and breakthroughs. Suryakumar Yadav, who continues to lead the side, will look to maintain the attacking approach that brought success in the third T20I. Meanwhile, young star Abhishek Sharma has emerged as one of India’s most impactful players in the series and is expected to play a crucial role once again.

    Carrara Oval Pitch Report

The surface at Carrara Oval has traditionally offered a balanced contest between bat and ball, making it a venue where both batters and bowlers can have their moments. Out of the nine T20 matches played here, four have been won by teams batting first and four by those chasing, highlighting the pitch’s even nature. The average first-innings score of 123 suggests that it’s not a high-scoring ground, with bowlers—especially spinners and those relying on variations—often finding assistance as the game progresses. Batters need to apply themselves early before capitalizing in the latter stages of the innings. The average second-innings score of 109 indicates that chasing can be tricky if the pitch slows down under lights, making toss and team balance crucial factors in determining the outcome.

AUS vs IND, 4th T20I: Today’s Match Prediction

    Case 1:

    • Australia wins the toss and bats first
    • Australia powerplay score: 35-45

    • India powerplay score: 40-50
