Read The Creator Economy’s Coming-of-Age Moment, a special package that breaks down the stakes facing influencers and the brands that work with them today, and how they can evolve to meet the market. Last year, James Nord saw a white space in the creator economy. As the founder and chief executive of Fohr, an influencer marketing platform that pairs brands with creators, Nord has seen firsthand that while fashion has become reliant on creators to bring in new customers, it can be difficult to determine which ones would produce the best results. In Hollywood, men have historically taken a backseat on the red carpet — relegating themselves to unremarkable black tuxedos, while the women wore gowns that were written into fashion history. One look at the red carpets so far this awards season, and it’s clear those days are long in the past. At the Critics Choice Awards last month, Ethan Hawke, a heartthrob from the 1990s known more for his on-screen brooding than his real-life fashion sense, wore a blue Bode suit with white floral embroidery. The leading men who opt for traditional suiting are fusing old-school sartorial codes with contemporary flourishes.…

Since it launched its online fashion store eight years ago, Quince has been called many things — accessible and disruptive by its customers and parasitic by the brands whose wares it knocks off. Now the retailer wants to add one more adjective to the list: original. Last week, the brand announced a partnership with A$AP Rocky to sell co-branded vinyl copies of his latest album, along with T-shirts emblazoned with its title, “Don’t Be Dumb.” On the same day, Quince also unveiled a collection of merino-wool overcoats and pleated wide-leg crepe pants curated by Erin Walsh, stylist to celebrities like…

For most of its 14 years in business, The RealReal was yet another money-losing online retailer with a growth-at-all-costs mentality, despite being a pioneer in luxury resale. But The RealReal is also more disciplined than it’s ever been, says president and chief executive Rati Sahi Levesque. In recent years, it…
