The film marks the latest appearance of the webslinger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Tom Holland returning as our beloved friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. Lately, I’ve seen a specific pattern emerge as organizations make AI claims. “We’re AI-first.” “We’re AI-native.” “We’re agentic.” The language is confident, forward-looking, and nearly universal. The results are generally not. Last year, MIT found that billions of dollars in enterprise GenAI pilots yielded nothing measurable. Gartner predicts more than 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by the end of 2027, and a recent Gallup survey showed that just 13% of U.S. employees use AI daily. Even “frequent use,” defined as a few times a week or more, sits at only 28%. So there’s a gap. Leaders describe…
Montreal’s Old Port looked like something out of a horror film this weekend. On June 14, the Grand Quay was filled with massive crowds adorned in bloody civilian clothes and the outfits of icons like Scream‘s Ghostface, Silent Hill‘s Pyramid Head, and Five Nights at Freddy’s Freddy Fazbear. Inside the venue, all kinds of macabre props were strewn about, drenched in dim, eerie red lighting and thick, moody fog effects. But contrary to what a confused passerby might think, this wasn’t for a Comic-Con or some other kind of general pop-culture show. No, it was for a single video game, Dead…
Portugal‘s quest to win the World Cup for the first time got off to a stuttering start as they were held to a 1-1 draw by DR Congo in their Group K opener. Roberto Martinez’s side are well fancied to contend for the trophy in what will be his final World Cup as coach, and what could be the final World Cup of Cristiano Ronaldo’s illustrious career. Portugal appeared on course for a routine win when Joao Neves opened the scoring in the sixth minute, but Martinez’s men were lacklustre thereafter. Indeed, DR Congo, making their first appearance at the…
Image Credit: SPREEAI John Imah knows the public version of his life can sound almost too neatly assembled: the fashion-tech founder, the Met Gala regular, the AI CEO with a $1.5 billion company, the guy whose Instagram bio reads, “Rarely where you expect.” The real version, he insists, is harder to flatten into a headline. He is a Nigerian-American entrepreneur, a former big-tech operator, a musician, a car collector, and the co-founder and CEO of SPREEAI, the fashion technology company building photorealistic virtual try-on, sizing intelligence, and personalization for retailers. Inc. reported that SPREEAI reached a $1.5 billion valuation in…
At the G7 Summit on Wednesday, world leaders like French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi voiced concerns that the U.S. could cut off their countries’ access to top American AI models at any time. Macron warned G7 leaders and top AI executives — including Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and President Donald Trump — over lunch that if the U.S. “from one day to the next can turn off the switch,” it could not only harm the economies of European customers but also damage the AI firms themselves. The comments come a few days…
Claude Design 🤝 Claude Code. Anthropic Exactly two months after releasing a preview of Claude Design to subscribers, Anthropic has begun rolling out a major update for its design assistant that brings better integration with its other apps. To start, Claude Design can now begin working from a local codebase, meaning any assets it generates will contain elements that already exist in your front-facing products. From there, the app can hand off a design to Claude Code, allowing the coding agent to program an interface without the need to start from scratch. You also don’t need…
A Denver French teacher was fired last month after a district investigation and an independent review found her script choices for graded classroom skits had placed female students in a position of feeling pressured to kiss one another. The Denver Public Schools board unanimously voted May 20 to dismiss Jennifer Honka, 50, who taught French Language and Culture at Northeast Early College. The board voted 7-0 following an executive session, with no public debate among members before the vote. The official grounds for termination were incompetence and neglect of duty. Ms. Honka had taught at the school for eight of…
