The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday that it has confirmed 1,645 cases of cyclosporiasis acquired in the U.S. since May 1. Among the cases of the gastrointestinal disease confirmed by federal health officials, 141 patients needed hospitalization, with no deaths. The median onset date for the illness among the cases is June 22, the CDC said. The agency said several states reported having more cyclosporiasis cases than the same timeframe in 2025 and that state health officials reported a higher number of cases overall.
