Companies are investing a lot of money in AI resources right now in the hope that it will enhance people’s performance and make organizations function more efficiently. Because of the size of the investment, there is pressure for people to engage with artificial intelligence in as many tasks as possible. Broadly speaking, if you have not played around much with AI, there is value in engaging with it. The tools are constantly changing, and the capacities continue to grow. Not only are the models providing more systematic responses, they are recommending and building tools to carry out tasks relevant to…
Jun 23, 2026; San Francisco, California, USA; Athletics pitcher Aaron Civale (45) throws during the first inning against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. Mandatory Credit: Sergio Estrada-Imagn Images The Athletics designated veteran pitcher Aaron Civale for assignment on a busy day of moves that were announced on MLB.com’s transactions log on Wednesday ahead of their return from the All-Star break on Friday. Right-handed reliever Yunior Tur was selected to the major league roster in Civale’s place, lining the organization’s No. 27 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, up for a potential big league debut this weekend when the Athletics host…
Cardinals reliever Scott Blewett has exercised an opt-out clause in his minor league contract, reports Derrick Goold of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. St. Louis either needs to add him to the MLB roster or grant him his release. Blewett has spent the entire season at Triple-A Memphis. Although his 5.18 earned run average across 48 2/3 innings isn’t encouraging, the 30-year-old righty has punched out 28% of opponents against an 8% walk rate. The ugly ERA is inflated by a .425 average on balls in play. That’s likely to come down, particularly if he’s pitching in front of an MLB-caliber defense.…

Mandatory Credit: Charles LeClaire-Imagn Images The Philadelphia Flyers announced a four-year, $36.5 million contract for forward Trevor Zegras on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration for the restricted free agent. Zegras, 25, was acquired via trade with the Anaheim Ducks last June. In his first season with Philadelphia, he set career highs of goals (26), points (67), power-play goals (10) and power-play points…
Jennifer Lopez landed in Italy this summer looking every bit like a Dolce & Gabbana fantasy. She posted a photo on Instagram credited to photographer @schiudio. The caption ran to three emojis – ocean waves, sunshine, and the Italian flag – plus a tag to the iconic Milan label. The pairing makes sense on almost every level. Lopez and Dolce & Gabbana go back years. She’s worn the brand to major events and appeared in their campaigns. She’s become one of those celebrities the label seems to orbit naturally. Dolce & Gabbana wants glamour with real star power behind it.…
When major disasters strike, Americans are routinely waiting weeks — or even months — to receive presidential approval for aid. And if they live in a state that didn’t support President Donald Trump, chances are greater that aid will denied. Since taking office last year, Trump has approved about 65 requests for major disaster declarations and denied more than two dozen others from states, tribes or territories seeking federal financial assistance following hurricanes, tornadoes, storms, floods and fires. Trump has taken longer on average to approve disaster requests than any other president, according to an Associated Press analysis of data…
In the weeks after Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden in 2020, the people that Trump appointed to run the Department of Justice, cybersecurity agencies and intelligence departments all said the same thing — the election was fair, legitimate and free of major fraud or foreign interference. In his second term, Trump has tried to use the levers of power to rewrite that well-settled history, something that he’s expected to try again on Thursday night with an address to the nation. He has already appointed loyalists who have echoed his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen and made…
Democrats continue to rake in cash across some of the nation’s most pivotal Senate races, outpacing their Republican counterparts several times over. In Georgia, Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff has 20 times as much cash on hand as his Republican challenger, Rep. Mike Collins. In North Carolina, perhaps Democrats’ best pickup opportunity, former Gov. Roy Cooper outraised former RNC Chair Michael Whatley $8.2 million to $2.9 million. And in Texas, Democratic state Rep. James Talarico ended June with $21.5 million in the bank compared to $1.8 million for his GOP opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. But Republicans have a leg…

Activewear company Lululemon has invested in the $30 million Series A round raised by Syntetica, a French startup that developed a novel approach to recycling nylon, whose properties make it both too good to give up but hard to reuse. Syntetica promises to recycle two types of nylon — Nylon 6 and Nylon 6,6 — that can’t easily be sorted out from each other in the textile waste collected from consumers, its CEO, Marco Bertone, told TechCrunch. With tons of clothing ending up in landfills each year, one key reason for the fashion industry to invest in more circularity is…
