Most people know the Sea to Sky Highway as one of Canada’s most beautiful drives. It winds from the edge of Vancouver along Howe Sound, climbs past waterfalls and mountain viewpoints, and continues toward Whistler and Pemberton. Now, it has another reason to be on your road trip list: it has been named one of the best EV road trips in the world. According to a study by iSelect, British Columbia’s Sea to Sky Highway ranked seventh globally among the world’s most EV-friendly road trips. The study analyzed 48 iconic road trips across six continents and scored each route based…
Conor McGregor has broken his silence after his abrupt loss at UFC 329. “I was so sharp and so ready for this fight I cannot believe what has happened,” McGregor, 37, wrote via X on Sunday, July 12. “The talk of me being off while walking into the fight is nonsense. I was calm, ready, and confident.” He continued, “I am in shock [at] what has taken place. The devil is literally staring at me right in front of my face here. I am not engaging. I will be at church tomorrow.” McGregor fought rival Max Holloway on Saturday, July…
Medicaid is entering a period where coverage alone won’t be enough. As redeterminations, work requirements, and budget pressure increase churn, Medicaid plans will face a harder performance test: not just whether members are covered, but whether high-risk members remain reachable, engaged, connected to care, and out of avoidable crisis settings. For many of Medicaid’s highest-need members, the problem isn’t that services don’t exist. It’s that the system can’t consistently reach the people who need those services most. The engagement gap is now a performance problem Plans are expected to improve quality, reduce avoidable emergency department use, manage transitions, close gaps…
England have sacked Brendon McCullum as coach of the men’s Test team – but he will stay on as coach of the one-day and T20 sides. The New Zealander revolutionised England’s Test game along with captain Ben Stokes after taking the reins in 2022. But recent results have tailed off and Stokes surprisingly retired from cricket during the recent series against New Zealand. “I’ve absolutely loved coaching the Test side and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together,” said McCullum. “There’ve been some unbelievable highs and a few tough days along the way, but that’s all part of taking…
The Mets have released outfielder Jared Oliva, according to his transactions page at MLB.com. That indicates that Oliva went unclaimed on waivers and elected free agency in lieu of an outright assignment. He is now a free agent and able to sign with any club, which will likely come on a minor league deal. Oliva was initially claimed by the Mets on June 23rd following his designation by the Giants. New York then optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse. Oliva only got into four games there, recording three singles in 17 plate appearances, although he showed off his speed by stealing…
Know where to place your router and how to position its antennas should get you better coverage. SOLDATOOFF/Shutterstock Let’s be honest here: have you ever actually read your router’s instruction manual to know how to position it properly? How about learning how the antennas should be placed too? I know I haven’t browsed beyond the technical setup pages or paid much attention to the rest of the booklet. Well, it turns out there’s actually a correct way to position both the router and the antennas. The router’s antenna position directly affects Wi-Fi signal strength, coverage range,…
On a hot day, you may feel different, uneasy, or a bit “off” in ways that are easy to dismiss but difficult to ignore. Your hands and feet might swell up, you may get headaches more readily, and your energy may seem to drain much faster than usual. For people who live with chronic pain, migraine, or inflammatory conditions, these feelings can be particularly pronounced. These experiences do, however, have a reasonable explanation: temperature affects how the body regulates blood flow, fluid balance, and physiological stress. The impact of an increasingly warming climate is making these effects more relevant to…
Photo courtesy: Calgary Stampeders. In what may prove to be a bad omen for the Calgary Stampeders, the team went into Montreal and did what they have done every time they have visited La Belle Province since 2018: lost to the Alouettes. Since that Grey Cup championship season, they have lost every game in Montreal, and have gone that long without a playoff victory. While causation and correlation are but distant cousins, stats are facts, and this is one. Saturday’s match-up ended 37-30 in favour of the hometown squad in a game where, seemingly against all odds given how they…
Medicare Advantage has become the dominant way older Americans receive healthcare, but the program still lacks one key ingredient: a long-term commitment. In two decades, Medicare Advantage has more than quadrupled enrollment to surpass traditional Medicare. Today one of every 10 Americans is on a Medicare Advantage plan, which provides consumers with all-in-one coverage with lower predictable costs and benefits for prescription drugs, vision, dental, hearing, and wellness. To promote competition in the marketplace, consumers are offered the chance to change Medicare Advantage programs each year. But short-term commitments from customers make it much harder for medical providers to plan…
