Taylor Frankie Paul could face another arrest and prison time due to her issues with ex, Dakota Mortensen. She has already lost her time as The Bachelorette, as ABC opted to cancel her season, which had already been filmed and wrapped. So, what is next for the Draper, Utah resident? Keep reading for all of the details that are currently known.
Taylor Frankie Paul Has A Lot Against Her
The Bachelorette fans are not surprised that the show was axed before it even aired. They never got a good feeling about Taylor Frankie Paul being cast as the lead of the show. She was already known for the smash hit Hulu series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. At the same time, she had a combative relationship with her ex, Dakota Mortensen. She had been arrested in 2023 for a domestic violence incident that happened with Dakota. It led to her being on probation, but the show still went on.
After filming for The Bachelorette ended and she went back to Mormon Wives, she and Dakota got into another altercation. It caused filming for Season 5 to halt, and that led to an immense downward spiral. With resurrected footage of Taylor and Dakota’s intense fight from 2023, where one of her children was hit by a chair, things could only get worse for the mother of three. According to a legal expert and attorney from Utah, Nathan Evershed, Taylor could be arrested again.
Furthermore, she could face up to five years in prison after Dakota called 911 on Taylor Frankie Paul back in February. Plus, he has a restraining order request to protect himself and their son, Ever. Taylor has two other children, from a previous relationship. Per Attorney Evershed:
“It’s the prosecution that’s going to make the determination whether they’re going to file charges, and if they do, there could be an arrest or there could be a summons to court. The biggest deal that would happen, though, is that she has a pending felony count of aggravated assault with domestic violence.”
The reality star is on probation until August 2026.
A Jail Sentence?
Even though Taylor Frankie Paul is on probation, what could put the hammer down and send her to prison? According to the attorney, the reality star currently has a “plea in abeyance.” This is all from when she was arrested three years ago. Nathan Evershed went on to explain what that meant for Taylor, especially in the state of Utah:
“It’s a plea that’s held in abeyance, meaning that should she violate her terms; one of them being not to commit any further crime, then that plea could then be entered. It’s a felony conviction if it’s entered. It’s a third-degree felony here in Utah, and she could be facing up to five years in prison should that happen.”
Obviously, it is unclear what is going to happen next. Moreover, this scenario seems highly unlikely. There is a better chance that Taylor will lose her job on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, as the cast has opted not to film with her right now.
