Bam Margera Secures Movie Deal After Years Of Personal Turmoil

Bam Margera is talking straight business this new year!

The stunt performer was reportedly in talks to feature in a new movie project with some of his best and most-talked-about moves from old footage making a cameo in the project.

Bam Margera was arrested in 2024 for violating his probation on the heels of his numerous run-ins with the law, including an instance where he was detained for reckless driving and other charges in the same year.

The media personality has agreed that fresh clips of him performing those mind-blowing stunts will be featured in the upcoming movie. However, nothing has been affirmed concerning his availability to perform these stunts in flesh.

During the negotiation stage, sources shared that producers reached out to Margera’s reps late last year to inform them of plans to commence filming for “Jackass.”

The new movie reportedly has plans to go full scale on the stunts, while unleashing nostalgia by giving viewers old, yet equally iconic moves from Margera.

At the time, the source noted to TMZ that Margera was a bit reluctant to be working with the franchise again, but he tried to create a better deal for himself by proposing that he come on board as a partner and creative personnel on set.

Sources from the negotiation added that if the crew from the movie saw eye to eye, they might also lay their beef to rest, especially now that the stunt professional is on track for recovery from his substance addiction. 

Another source projected that if Margera and the other side came together with him taking accountability for his actions and role in their fallout, things would go back to how they were, which is the “Jackass” crew wanting the best for him.

The American skateboarder was previously sent off the last movie for breaching his contract by refusing to stay off alcohol and harmful substances. 

Things, however, picked up for him professionally last year when he reunited with Tony Hawk and returned to the “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater” gaming network. He also ended the year on a great note by reuniting with his “Jackass” co-star, Chris Pontius.

The 46-year-old was released from jail in September 2024, and his attorney confirmed that he would embark on a short-term program at the Recovery Centers of America for Inpatient Treatment. 

As reported by The Blast, sources revealed that the center would be his destination right after release from jail to help him bring his probation violation case to a close.

Before his release, the skateboarder was ordered to remain in custody until he goes in for an evaluation for his addiction. While his wife showed up in the courtroom to support him, none of his extended family members were present.

His attorney, Michael T. van der Veen, expressed that he has stayed on the right track for a year or more and passed all his drug screenings. In addition, Veen stated that, “His professional life has been going well, and we look forward to his release so he can continue his growth.”

By virtue of his profession, Margera’s legs have become one of the most valuable parts of his body, but he came this close to losing them following his struggles with drug abuse.

The Blast reported that he narrated this story at an event for “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4” video game, where he reflected on a dark period in his life.

He declared that he felt so lost and out of touch with skating for about ten years, until he started questioning himself on what truly made him happy, and skateboarding topped the list.

“You know, in 2013, the doctor said they were dry-rotted rubber bands from alcohol abuse, so I kind of lost hope. But now they are back to 100percent. I’m skating again,” Margera raved.

With the help of his wife, the stunt expert shared that he was able to regain his physical health and stick to skateboarding, unless any bigger injury stops him from living his dream.

Last December, just right before Christmas, the stunt performer and his estranged partner, Nikki Boyd, settled their child support drama. 

Margera reportedly agreed to pay $2,500 monthly in child support for their son, Phoenix. The payment was modified from Boyd’s initial request after years of going back and forth in court, and the payment was scheduled to commence this year.

Boyd had earlier asked that her ex pay $15,000 monthly in child support due to her unattractive financial situation, and Margera refused to pick up the slack when it comes to paying for health insurance, education, housing, and childcare.

Boyd’s lawyer claimed that Margera had enough in his treasury to sustain his child’s lifestyle, and he has continued to evade his responsibility, including visiting his son or attending a hearing regarding the case.
