Bayern Munich returned to winning ways following their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday to move eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

Vincent Kompany’s side, whose unbeaten campaign was brought to an end by the Gunners at the Emirates, left it late against strugglers St Pauli, with the returning Luis Diaz and Nicolas Jackson both scoring in second-half stoppage time in a 3-1 win.

Burnley loanee Andreas Hountondji had given the visitors a surprise early lead at the Allianz Arena before Raphael Guerreiro equalised on the stroke of half-time.

With the scores level as the clock ticked over into the 93rd minute, Diaz headed home from Joshua Kimmich’s cross before Jackson, on as a substitute, added a late third as St Pauli committed players forward.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund edged out Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 to leapfrog them into third.

Aaron Anselmino and Karim Adeyemi put the visitors into a commanding position going into the final 10 minutes.

Christian Kofane netted for Leverkusen in the 83rd minute to make it an interesting last period, but Dortmund held on to take the three points.

In Ligue 1, Marseille squandered the chance to move above champions Paris Saint-Germain as they were held to a 2-2 draw with Toulouse.

Emersonn had given Toulouse an early lead but goals from Igor Paixao and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the space of eight second-half minutes turned the game on its head.

Just as Roberto De Zerbi’s men looked as though they were headed for the summit of the French top-flight – following PSG’s shock 1-0 defeat to 10-man Monaco earlier in the day – Santiago Hidalgo popped up with a 92nd-minute goal to ensure the points were shared.

The result keep Luis Enrique’s men top of the pile by a point, while third-placed Lens could jump above them with a win over Angers on Sunday.

There was change at the top of Serie A as AC Milan emerged with a narrow victory over Lazio at San Siro.

Rafael Leao scored six minutes after half-time as the Rossoneri extended their unbeaten run in all competitions this season to 13 games.

The result sees Max Allegri’s side move above Roma by a point, albeit having played one game more.

The Giallorossi host third-placed Napoli on Sunday knowing a win over the champions would lift them back to the top.

Meanwhile, there were wins for Juventus, who beat Cagliari 2-1, and Cesc Fabregas’ Como, who continued their impressive campaign on Friday with a 2-0 win over Sassuolo.

In LaLiga, after Barcelona moved two points clear with victory over Alavez, third-placed Atletico Madrid beat bottom club Oviedo 2-0 courtesy of an Alexander Sorloth first-half brace.
