Bell has introduced the Bell Trade-In Deadline, a one-day event offering customers a minimum trade-in value of $500 on any phone to celebrate the National Hockey League (NHL) Trade Deadline, which is today.
To add some context, Bell Media’s sports-dedicated station, TSN, hosts NHL Trade Deadline coverage every year with insider reports, breaking news, and “wall-to-wall analysis.”
The deal, done in collaboration with design and marketing firm LEO Toronto (responsible for the Ahlo), is looking to “reimagine what a retail promotion could look like inside a national sports moment.”
Interestingly, LEO Toronto also designed 15-second TV spots shot on TSN’s set, and hosted by Cheryl Pounder. These spots are designed to look like ‘breaking news,’ and feature the customers making their own device trades.
1/2 BREAKING: A last-minute trade is materializing. The phones are ringing off the hook. It’s the Bell Trade-In Deadline. Today is the day: get a minimum $500 trade-in value on any phone – available only at a Bell store. #BellTradeInDeadline (legal terms in comment below) pic.twitter.com/L6qxFei8Oy

Believe it or not, I have actually managed to spot a few of these spots within the Trade Deadline day broadcast while working today.
The deal is only available Today, Mar. 6, 2026. The device you are trading in must also be functional and turn on. The new device will be on a two-year term with Bell SmartPay and a two-year rate plan.
In my opinion, if you have an old device you want to trade in, it might be worth taking it to a Bell store today instead of trying to negotiate with users on Facebook Marketplace or at a Pawn Shop.
