Ben Affleck’s Teen Child, Fin, Mirrors Their Dad’s Style During Rare Outing

Ben Affleck’s 16-year-old child, Fin Affleck, mirrored their dad’s classic fall style during a recent outing with their mom, Jennifer Garner.

Formerly known as Seraphina, Fin introduced their new name at their grandfather’s memorial in April 2024. Despite divorcing in 2018, Affleck and Garner remain devoted co-parents, often praising each other’s parenting.

Jennifer Garner has previously described Ben Affleck as the “love of her life,” characterizing him as brilliant yet complex in a heartfelt 2016 interview.

Affleck’s child, Fin, seemed to take a page from their dad’s signature fall style during a weekend outing with mom Jennifer Garner.

According to photos obtained by the Daily Mail, the 16-year-old sported a navy crewneck sweater featuring a nod to The Smiths, paired with clean-cut jeans and a brown leather crossbody bag, a look strikingly similar to one Ben famously wore in 2016, when his pensive “sweater and cigarette” moment became a viral meme.

This time, however, Fin’s version had a cheerful, youthful spin as they completed the outfit with light blue sneakers and colorful laces, smiling as they accompanied Garner.

On her part, Garner, 52, kept things casual yet chic in gray overalls, navy sneakers, and dark sunglasses.

She accessorized with a delicate gold necklace inscribed “Palisades,” honoring one of the Los Angeles neighborhoods affected by fires earlier this year. The mother-child duo was later seen leaving a building side by side, each enjoying a lollipop.

Fin, formerly known as Seraphina Rose, debuted their new name during an emotional moment at the memorial service for Garner’s father in April 2024.

Dressed in a black pantsuit with a freshly buzzed haircut, the 16-year-old took the podium at Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston, West Virginia, where they introduced themselves for the first time as “Fin Affleck” before reading a Bible verse to honor their late grandfather.

Although Fin had been photographed with their short-cropped hairstyle as early as February 2024, the service marked the first time they publicly shared their name change.

The memorial, which was streamed live on Facebook, paid tribute to Garner’s father, William Jack Garner, who passed away a week earlier at age 85.

Following other family members, Fin approached the lectern and said, “Hello, my name is Fin Affleck,” before reading Proverbs 16:8: “Better is a little with righteousness than a large income with injustice.”

Ben and Garner officially separated in 2015 and finalized their divorce three years later, but the former couple has continued to maintain a strong and respectful co-parenting relationship.

Just last month, the pair were spotted enjoying a rare family outing with two of their three children, Fin and Samuel.

In a March interview with GQ, the “Gone Girl” star praised Garner for her role in their children’s lives.

“I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner,” he said. “She’s wonderful, and great, and we work together well.”

The “Good Will Hunting” star reflected on how he and Garner have handled raising their kids amid the pressures of fame.

Affleck emphasized their shared effort to keep things honest and grounded, especially given the wild stories about them in the media and magazines.

“We used to have a thing, my ex-wife and I, when they would see something on a supermarket stand. We would say, well, ‘You know this isn’t always true because if it were, you would have 15 brothers or sisters or whatever the number of stories is where they said that your mom was pregnant,” Affleck joked.

He added, “I know what’s going on in my life. And also, really more importantly, my kids know.”

Garner also once spoke candidly about her marriage to Ben and their eventual split during an emotional Vanity Fair interview in 2016.

Reflecting on their relationship, she said she never married “the big fat movie star” everyone saw; instead, she simply married “Ben.”

“And I would go back and remake that decision,” she admitted. “I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that?”

Garner went on to describe Affleck as “the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”
