During today’s Nintendo Direct, we saw a new trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and finally learned the game’s release date, December 4, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch 2. There is also a base Nintendo Switch version that we can assume launches the same day, but the trailer specifically mentions the Nintendo Switch 2 edition.
In the new trailer, we saw Samus driving around in a motorcycle looking badass. You’ll be using the motorcycle for travel, but you’ll also be able to battle on the back of the bike. The trailer also shows a variety of environments you’ll have to travel through, including desert, volcanic, and snowy regions, as well as one that looks like it always rains like the planet Kamino in Star Wars. And at the end of the trailer, it looks like you get a glimpse at what could be an important antagonist.
The Metroid 4 title was originally announced at E3 2017, so it’s taken eight long years for this game to finally launch. Hopefully, there isn’t another delay, as fans may lose it.
