Bianca Censori Insists She Is Not Being Controlled By Her Husband, Kanye West

In a rare Vanity Fair interview, the 31-year-old made it clear that her provocative style is a personal and artistic decision, not something imposed by her husband, rapper Kanye West.

In a rare interview with Vanity Fair published on Friday, February 6, the 31-year-old addressed long-standing speculation about her relationship and public image.

According to Censori, her bold looks are the result of mutual creative input rather than control. “I wouldn’t be doing something I didn’t want to do,” she explained, noting that she and West often conceptualize her outfits together.

She described their process as a “collaboration” between her and West rather than a directive from the rapper.

“It was never ‘I was being told to do something,” she said, asking, “If you were married to Gianni Versace, wouldn’t he give you a dress or something?”

Married since 2022, Censori and West have largely avoided speaking publicly about their relationship. Still, she felt it was important to clarify that their marriage isn’t performative and that she isn’t being manipulated.

“I didn’t marry my husband because I wanted some sort of platform,” she said. “I married him because I love him. Is that like the corniest thing ever?”

While she acknowledges that her visibility is tied to West’s fame, Censori is self-aware about being known as a “nepo wife.”

She admitted that public perception often strips her of autonomy, with her image constantly circulated, distorted, and scrutinized beyond her control.

Censori also embraced her “obvious obsession with nudity,” something that has defined many of her red carpet moments.

One of the most talked-about instances occurred at the 2025 Grammys, when she arrived covered in an oversized fur coat before revealing a sheer, skin-toned dress that left little to the imagination.

West later described the look as a custom couture design from his Yzy label, calling it his first official women’s piece. Censori continued the daring fashion narrative throughout the night, attending afterparties in another transparent outfit.

The following day, West celebrated her cultural impact online, claiming she had become the “most Googled person on the planet called Earth.”

Looking back, Censori said she never felt disconnected from the imagery she presented.

“I was naked everywhere. I consistently showed the same imagery over and over and over again,” she said. “I live my artwork.”

The Australian architect, who is preparing to debut “BIO POP,” the opening chapter of a seven-year performance art project in Korea, shared that she doesn’t even view some of her sheer outfits as true nudity.

The Vanity Fair profile also highlighted her status as the most Googled woman of 2025, a title Censori addressed thoughtfully.

“I’m trying not to sound like I’m bragging, but it is not a position that anybody in time has ever had that much visibility without speech,” she said. “If it was just nudity, a lot of people would have that. But it also proves in a time that was so overexposed and vulnerable, that mystery still has power.”

During her chat with Vanity Fair, Censori also opened up about a deeply personal chapter of her life, revealing that she sought treatment at a rehabilitation facility in Spain.

She explained that the decision came after recognizing destructive emotional patterns that were affecting both herself and those around her.

“I put a lot of pressure on other people being the reason for my happiness or the reason for my unhappiness,” Censori admitted, noting that she often externalized her happiness and frustration. “I would blame someone else if I wasn’t feeling good.”

Censori described her time in rehab as life-changing, saying she entered treatment emotionally dysregulated and left with a renewed ability to function and self-regulate.

Before seeking help, she revealed she had been self-medicating with benzodiazepines. West covered the cost of her treatment, but Censori emphasized that the gesture went far beyond financial support.

The Australian-born model revealed she told her husband, “Anything that you have ever bought me does not equate to how important this was to me,” noting that the price for her rehab treatment was “ridiculous.”
