Fans who attended Game 7 of the Toronto Blue Jays vs Los Angeles Dodgers World Series used more data than last year’s Taylor Swift concert at the same venue.
The 2025 World Series was held at the Rogers Centre, which set a new record for data usage at the stadium, as nearly 7.5TB of data was used. This beats the Taylor Swift concert from last year, which had Swifties using 7.4TB of data.
Rogers says that 60 per cent of mobile data during Game 7 was downloaded traffic, while the rest was uploaded. Nearly 66 per cent of TV subscribers watched game on Rogers Xfinity TV, and during the match Rogers Xfinity customers used more than 45,000TB of data on the Rogers wireline network.
The Toronto-based national carrier also shared that Game 7 was its most-watched broadcast ever, with 10.9 million viewers tuning in. It’s also the most-watched English-language broadcast on record in Canada, save for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Previously, Rogers shared that Blue Jays fans used 145,000TB of data during the first three games of the World Series. And while 45,000TB of data was used during Game 7, that was less than the 18-inning Game 3, which saw Rogers customers use 65,000TB of data.
But while the Jays beat Swift for data usage at the Rogers Centre, she still holds Rogers’ 5G data record. Fans used a whopping 11TB of data during Swift’s December 8, 2024, show in Vancouver.
