Team Canada has won their 18th medal at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. On Saturday, Canada’s Rachel Homan defeated the United States 10-7 in the bronze medal game in women’s curling.
Team Homan was able to bounce back nicely after losing 6-3 to Sweden in the semifinals on Friday. In the other semi-finals game, Switzerland defeated the United States 7-4.
Switzerland will now play Sweden for the Olympic gold medal in women’s curling. That game will take place at 3 AM MT on Sunday. It is the third final event of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. The fourth and final run of four-man bobsled takes place at 4:15 AM MT, and the gold medal in men’s hockey will be at 6 AM MT on Sunday. That game will feature Canada and the United States.
This is the first Olympic medal for Homan. At the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, Homan skipped Canada in the women’s competition, but finished with a record of four wins and five losses. They were in sixth place overall. Then at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, Homan teamed up with John Morris of Winnipeg, Manitoba in mixed doubles curling, and finished fifth with a record of five wins and four losses.
