If you know anything about me, I love anime. For the past four years, I’ve listed my favourite anime on MobileSyup. Over the years, these anime have included shows such as Dandandan, Ranking of Kings, and Blue Lock; however, there are some anime that have become my absolute favourites. In fact, I’m such a weeb that I’ve read the manga already for these shows, I’ve seen the entire series over and over again, playing them in the background while I work, or when I’m falling asleep, watching them in both Japanese and English, and I often can remember direct quotes and say them as the show is playing.
While Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Dandandan and Haikyuu are among some of the favourites I’ve rewatched, the two that I’ve been completely obsessed with since they’ve been released are Jujustu Kaisen and Frieren: Beyond A Journey’s End. So when Crunchyroll invited me to attend a multi-title press junket with some of the English Dub voice actors of Jujutsu Kaisen and Frieren: Beyond A Journey’s End, and a couple of the voice actors from a new series that I enjoy, Sentenced to Be a Hero, I couldn’t refuse.
We talked about the latest seasons of the different series, their experiences with voice acting, and, of course, I had to geek out a bit.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End: Season 2
In this interview, I speak with:
- Mallorie Rodak (She/Her) as Frieren
- Jill Harris (She/Her) as Fern
- Jordan Dash Cruz (He/Him) as Stark
Jujustu Kaisen: Season 3
In this interview, I speak with:
- Adam McArthur (He/Him) as Yuji Itadori
- Kayleigh McKee (She/Her) as Yuta Okkotsu
(If you look closely, you’ll see some Jujutsu Kaisen in my background)
Sentenced to Be a Hero
In this interview, I speak with:
- Emi Lo (She/They) as Teoritta
- Dawn M. Bennett (She/Her) as Patausche Kivia
All three of these series are fantasy action anime with amazingly beautiful battle scenes, gorgeous set pieces, and, honestly, can be very funny at times. If you’re looking for something new and short to follow along with, I’d suggest Sentenced to Be a Hero. Frieren: Beyond A Journey’s End is incredible. Interestingly, it’s a little slow and peaceful at times, and has a bit of that ‘slice of life’ vibe, but when the action kicks off, it’s detailed, well animated, and you can’t take your eyes off it. Jujustu Kaisen, on the other hand, is among the greatest and will definitely be part of the anime hall of fame — with the main character Yuji Itadori, voiced by Adam McArthur, as part of the Mt. Rushmore of anime.
Check out all three of these anime on Crunchyroll today.
