Manchester United can offer further proof they have turned the corner with a win at home to Everton on Monday.
Ruben Amorim’s side have lost one of their last seven games in the Premier League and victory against the Toffees will move them two points behind second-placed Chelsea.
United have finally gained an element of consistency after a hugely underwhelming first year under the Portuguese during which they have seemingly lurched from one setback to another.
Amorim may be the present but he will have to overcome a face from United’s past at Old Trafford.
Former Reds boss David Moyes left Everton in 2013 for a brief spell at United and will be in the opposition dugout, having rejoined the Toffees in January as the sacked Sean Dyche’s successor.
Moyes has had a stabilising effect on the club, who appear unlikely to be dragged into a familiar relegation dogfight and will move above arch-rivals Liverpool if they win.

Defender Harry Maguire and forward Benjamin Sesko are unavailable for United with injuries sustained against Spurs on November 8, while striker Matheus Cunha is out after suffering an issue in training.
Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro come in, with 18-year-old winger Shea Lacey in the squad for the first time.
Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is back on the bench, as is centre-back Lisandro Martinez following a long-term knee injury.

Defenders Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) and Nathan Patterson (foot and groin) are out, as is on-loan Freiburg midfielder Merlin Rohl.
“Merlin had an operation a week last Monday on his hernia,” Moyes said. “It’s going to keep him out for a few weeks.”
Right-back Seamus Coleman, 37, is in Everton’s lineup for the first time this season, having started in Ireland’s games at home to Portugal and away to Hungary during the international break and helped his country reach the 2026 World Cup play-offs in last-gasp fashion in Budapest.
“It was really good to see Seamus get the minutes and get the time,” Moyes said of Coleman, who has barely featured in this season’s top flight.
“It’s great he’s getting the minutes. His training is terrific and his attitude is always impeccable. He’s certainly in my thoughts, that’s for sure.”
