Conservative OnlyFans creator Anya Lacey is calling foul on a Florida gubernatorial hopeful’s “sin tax” idea, blasting the proposal as hypocritical, “delusional,” and rooted more in control than morality. The 19-year-old “trad wife” influencer, known for mixing conservative values with an OnlyFans career, spoke to The Blast on Wednesday after Florida governor candidate James Fishback proposed a first-of-its-kind tax that would take a massive 50% cut from creators’ OnlyFans earnings in the state. Fishback claims the money would be funneled into public education, while also discouraging what he labeled “online degeneracy.”

Fishback first sparked the backlash after laying out his plan on X. “As Florida governor in year one, I will push for the first-of-its-kind OnlyFans Sin Tax,” he said on X. “If you are a so-called OnlyFans creator in Florida, you are going to pay 50% to the state on whatever you so-called earn via that online degeneracy platform.”

But Lacey wasn’t buying the moral framing and argued the proposal reeks of a double standard. “Miami was basically built off the cocaine trade, so it’s rich for anyone to claim some moral high ground now,” Lacey told The Blast. “This state has never been a stranger to people making money in ways the general public might not approve of. Let’s not rewrite history.”

She also pointed to how widespread adult content consumption is, saying the political posturing ignores reality.

“Those are the numbers of those surveyed who admit it! That figure is likely much higher,” Anya quipped. “If you’re assuming the public will vote for this, you’re also assuming a quarter of them don’t consume this content. That’s just false. And to act like no one in the Senate or House is watching this stuff is delusional.”

Anya Lacey Says Not All OnlyFans Content Is Explicit

Lacey also challenged the premise that everything on the platform is explicit, saying her content has included everyday lifestyle posts that wouldn’t be considered adult anywhere else.

“I’ve posted fishing videos, baking content, videos with my pets. None of that is p-rn. But because it’s on OnlyFans, I’m supposed to be taxed for it like it’s a moral sin?” she said. “If we start there, then what’s next? Are you going to tax every nude scene in a Hollywood movie? Every racy photo on Instagram? Every advertisement that has scantily clad women in it? Where do you draw the line?”

    Lacey Challenges’ Sin Tax’ Hypocrisy

Her biggest objection, she explained, is the label itself, arguing the proposal is essentially punishment disguised as policy. “Let’s call it what it is: a punitive tax based on a personal belief system. If you’re calling this a ‘sin tax,’ then why aren’t alcohol, tobacco, weed, even strip clubs being taxed at the same rate?” she said. “You don’t get to decide that OnlyFans is the one true sin.”

Lacey also questioned how far Fishback would go and whether major adult entertainment companies operating in Florida would face the same heat. “If you’re taxing OnlyFans creators 50%, are you taxing the directors? The producers? The studio landlords? Or is this only about punishing independent women who control their own content?” she said. “This isn’t about morality. It’s about control.”

Sophie Rain Slams Fishback After He Tags Her In OnlyFans ‘Sin Tax’ Push

Fishback’s proposal has been exploding online, especially after he tagged prominent creator Sophie Rain and told her to “pay up or quit,” turning a policy pitch into a very personal callout. Rain responded to the drama with zero patience, telling The Blast exclusively that Fishback appears to be chasing attention.

“I have not heard of this guy until now, and I have lived in Florida all my life. He’s looking for clout,” she told The Blast exclusively. “First of all, imposing a tax on OnlyFans girls is quite possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. I already pay my taxes, millions in taxes, actually. Also, why are you taxing the creator, why not the subscriber?! By that logic, this makes no sense.”

For now, Fishback’s “sin tax” might be going viral, but it’s also uniting creators across very different brands and politics.
