Crave is targeting an April 2027 premiere for the highly-anticipated second season of Heated Rivalry.
Jacob Tierney, the Montreal-born creator of the Canadian series, confirmed the plan while on CBS Mornings on Feb. 26 alongside Toronto executive producer Brendan Brady. He added that filming, which is expected to once again take place across Canada, is scheduled to begin in August.“There will be more Heated Rivalry on your TVs, truly as soon as humanly possible,” noted Tierney.
While on CBS, Tierney also touted the importance of being “very faithful” to Canadian writer Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books, upon which Heated Rivalry is based, as well as the quintessentially Canadian nature of the whole property. “This was a Canadian book. We’re Canadian producers,” he said.
Otherwise, plot details for the second season of the romantic drama series remain under wraps, so fans will have to wait to find out what happens with hockey stars Shane Hollander (Kelowna, B.C.’s own Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie).
News on the second season comes a few days after Reid announced that Unrivaled, her seventh Game Changers novel, has been pushed from September 2026 to June 2027. The Nova Scotian author attributed the delay to both her ongoing battle with Parkinson’s and navigating the increased level of fame following the success of the TV series.
In related news, Bell recently confirmed that it has reached nearly five million Crave subs, in no small part due to a best-ever quarter driven by Heated Rivalry. Additionally, Airbnb announced that Heated Rivalry fans will soon be able to stay in the Muskoka cottage that featured prominently in the season finale.
