A new article indicates that the new co-president of Lucasfilm, Dave Filoni, was not satisfied with ‘Andor,’ a series that has won awards and has already caused discussions and debates in the Star Wars fandom. This purported personal opinion has divided the audience into two groups: one group that doubts it and another group that is afraid of the franchise’s future.

The genius behind ‘The Clone Wars,’ ‘Rebels,’ and ‘Ahsoka’ is now given a co-president role at Lucasfilm. So, when an article comes out claiming that he ‘disliked’ the ‘Andor’ series, it not only raises one eyebrow but it also triggers a galactic meltdown on the internet.

Many responses have declared that it is a rumor, with one person pointing others to an interview clip: “yeah that’s a lie by the way here’s what he really thinks of Andor.” Until Filoni gives his side of the story, the report will remain an unfounded spark in a very dry tinderbox of fan opinion.

Whether or not the supposed distaste of Dave Filoni for it is true has made it a proxy war for the very soul of the franchise. Do the future works to come reflect the complicated nature, sophisticated adult drama or these will be the legendary, Force-wielding adventures that Filoni prefers. That is the internal struggle he will have to manage from the moment he steps into the Lucasfilm door.
