Sean “Diddy” Combs appears to be quickly adapting to his new prison life, as new photos from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey showed the music mogul smiling and chatting with fellow inmates.

The disgraced rapper was previously held at the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center following his arrest in September 2024.

Sean “Diddy” Combs plans to appeal his 50-month sentence and has recently submitted papers to the court to expedite the appeal.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is already getting comfortable in his new prison cell, as he was seen smiling and chatting with fellow inmates at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey on Saturday.

In photos obtained by TMZ, the “Finna Get Loose” rapper can be seen wearing a gray sweat suit set and sneakers, paired with a matching head warmer and a blue coat.

The rapper-producer is seen sporting a full, graying beard and engaging in what appeared to be a relaxed conversation with other men.

One photo even appears to show him shaking hands with one of the guys, as they all had animated expressions, showing how happy they were to have him around.

It comes after the news outlet released photos of his first day behind the minimum security prison, which he was transferred to last week.

The rapper had on an orange prison beanie and a navy blue jacket as he strolled around during leisure time on Friday.

Before now, Diddy had been holed up at the Metropolitan Detention Center following his arrest last year.

He stood trial for charges related to sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution, but was acquitted of the more serious crimes. He was, however, found guilty of two counts of prostitution-related charges.

Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to 50 months in prison and also ordered him to pay $500,000 fine, although the year he’s already spent at the MDC in Brooklyn counts toward his sentencing.

He was transferred to FCI Fort Dix after his lawyers raised the case for the new facility so that he would be able to “address drug abuse issues” and “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”

Diddy’s Lawyers Spoke About His Living Conditions At MDC Before His Transfer To FCI Fort Dix

While he was being held at the MDC in Brooklyn, he faced threats to his life and may have been harmed after a knife-wielding inmate got close enough to press the weapon against his neck.

The living conditions in the maximum security prison were quite appalling, as his lawyers revealed he didn’t have access to clean water and could go days without being exposed to fresh air.

There were also reports that the facility’s food was substandard, with claims that maggot-infested meals were served, among other complaints.

Diddy’s best friend, Charlucci Finney, also corroborated the rapper’s lawyers’ claims that his life was at stake due to a makeshift knife incident. However, he clarified that it was most likely a “warning.”

According to Diddy’s close friend, Finney, the knife incident at MDC was probably a warning rather than a real murder attempt.

“He woke up with a knife to his throat,” Finney told the Daily Mail. “I don’t know whether he fought him off or the guards came, I just know that it happened.”

“If this guy had wanted to harm him, Sean would have been harmed. It would only take a second to cut his throat with a weapon and kill him,” he continued. “It was probably a way to say: ‘Next time you ain’t gonna be so lucky.'”

Finney added that in jail, “everything is intimidation,” however, he noted that such an act likely didn’t affect Diddy as the music mogul is “from Harlem.”

    Diddy’s Appeal Expedition Request Approved

Last week, Diddy’s lawyers submitted legal papers to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, asking that the court expedite his appeal after the rapper claimed it’s the only way to ensure justice is served, given his sentence and the possibility of serving it while the appeal is pending.

“Mr. Combs expects to challenge both his conviction and sentence in his appeal. An expedited briefing and argument schedule is critical to ensure that Mr. Combs’s appeal of his sentence does not become moot while the appeal is pending,” the filing says.

It added, “Accordingly, to ensure that Mr. Combs could meaningfully benefit from any appellate ruling vacating his sentence, we have proposed a schedule that would expedite this Court’s consideration of Mr. Combs’s appeal.”

According to TMZ, a judge approved the request on Monday, meaning Diddy and his lawyers would have a quicker appeal process. This would see his lawyers making oral arguments as early as April 2026.
