Dutch buyers are increasing their share of the Spanish property market, joining two long-standing foreign buyer groups but with more of a focus on luxury properties.
The Dutch are increasing their presence in the Spanish property market, new data reveals.
British and German buyers remain among the leading foreign buyers of property in Spain but are now joined by the Dutch, according to Land Registry figures analysed by Spanish estate agents.

The Dutch are increasing their market share. Even in the fourth quarter of last year, buyers from the Netherlands climbed a place in international ranking to second place, with 6.7 percent of total foreign transactions, behind the British (7.9 percent) and slightly ahead of the Germans (6.6 percent).
According to figures from luxury estate agency Dils Lucas Fox, between 2023 and 2025 there was cumulative growth of almost 50 percent (48.8 percent) in Dutch purchases. Transactions closed by the firm with buyers from the Netherlands reached €52 million.
The residential CEO of Dils Lucas Fox, Paloma Pérez Bravo, explained: “Buyers from the Netherlands are growing in number, attracted by a unique lifestyle, the good climate, the possibility of an active outdoor life, good connections and the beauty of our country, as well as the potential profitability of owning an asset in Spain.”

Pérez Bravo added that Dutch buyers “are redrawing the map of luxury residential property, focusing particularly on micro-destinations such as Jávea on the northern Costa Blanca and Girona on the Costa Brava, where they have grown by more than 42 percent in 2025”.
45.3 percent of Dutch buyers purchase as their primary residence, 45.3 percent as a second home and 9.4 percent as an investment.
Of the transactions completed by Dils Lucas Fox in 2025, 51.6 percent were luxury villas, 31.3 percent were flats, and 6.3 percent were country houses.
