Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned to The View this week to fill in for Alyssa Farah Griffin, who went on maternity leave in February. The former host is one of several guest co-hosts. The panelists addressed the war with Iran on Monday’s “Hot Topics” discussion. Elisabeth Hasselbeck threw her full support behind the President’s decision, saying it would be good for America. Whoopi Goldberg had to intervene when the discussion got too intense.
But the topic came up again on Tuesday’s episode. Elisabeth Hasselbeck had a direct message to Megyn Kelly over her comments about the deaths of six American service members. “If I can just say this, number one: Megyn Kelly’s clip that we ran before saying who those troops died for. How dare you, Megyn Kelly?”
Elisabeth Hasselbeck continued, “When they are sacrificing their lives in our uniform, how dare you tell them, or their families, or our nation, what they died for?”
Former Fox News Anchor Retaliates
The feud didn’t end there. Megyn Kelly had a terse response to Elisabeth Hasselbeck. “Elisabeth was too weak to handle the ladies of The View and even the morning set on Fox and Friends,” she told the Daily Mail. Elisabeth Hasselbeck left The View in 2013 and briefly co-hosted the Fox News show for two years.
Megyn Kelly added, “She ran from the public square into exile so she could avoid mean people saying unflattering things about her — and there are many to say. Now she thinks she’s going to come back for a day and be the arbiter of appropriate conversation around the war we just launched in Iran? Please. No one gives a da*n what this know-nothing has to say.”
