“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Emily Simpson has broken her silence on Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, following their shocking arrest on fraud charges.

Wendy and Eddie Osefo’s surprising legal woes began in early October 2025, after Maryland law enforcement officers arrested them, claiming they attempted to defraud insurance companies out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

During an interview with Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” Simpson, who joined the series in 2018 and recently worked with Wendy on the “Housewives” spin-off, “Wife Swap,” got candid about the latter’s ongoing legal challenges. “I know Wendy and I think she’s lovely. I think she’s such, she [has] always been so kind to me anytime I’ve met her,” Simpson said.

Despite her positive feelings toward the Potomac star, Simpson, a former copyright and family law attorney, admitted she doesn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel for Wendy and her husband. “I did kind of dig into their case and read about it. It doesn’t look great. I’ll just say that,” she said.

Simpson added, “I do hope that she has some kind of solid defense. I know I read some things about they were saying that maybe the search was illegal. I don’t know.”

Indeed, following her arrest in October 2025, Wendy’s legal representatives filed documents, claiming the political commentator and mother of three was the victim of an “illegal” arrest. Consequently, the reality star asked the courts to dismiss all charges against her due to “defects in the charging document.”

Furthermore, Wendy requested that all evidence against her be “suppressed because of unlawful search or seizure,” as well as any wire and verbal communications be “suppressed because of an unlawful interception.”

Elsewhere in the legal documents, Wendy’s legal rep argued that her “admissions, statements, or confessions” should be dismissed as they were “unlawfully obtained.”

Wendy and Eddie’s arrest stems from a burglary report they filed in April 2024, claiming their home had been robbed and several luxury goods were stolen, according to The Blast.

Maryland investigators argued that Wendy and Eddie had inconsistencies in their stories and claimed that Wendy was seen on social media wearing items she reported as stolen.

Officers noted that Wendy and Eddie filed claims with three different insurance companies to allegedly collect hefty paychecks on items they had reportedly already returned to stores for full refunds.

Both were charged with several counts of insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one count of giving a false statement to police.

Another ‘RHOC’ Star Speaks Out About Wendy And Eddie’s Case

And Simpson isn’t the only West Coast Housewife speaking out about Wendy and Eddie’s unexpected legal case. Her co-star, Tamra Judge, opened up about the situation on her podcast, “Two Ts In A Pod,” and claimed one of Wendy’s Maryland neighbors DM’d her about the case, saying they had a feeling something suspicious was going on.

“Her neighbor slid into my DM. [She said] basically, they all got notices on their front door or in their mailbox that there had been a burglary at Wendy and Eddie’s house. And instantly, the whole entire neighborhood was thinking, ‘This is insurance fraud,'” Judge told her co-host, Teddi Mellencamp. “She goes, ‘We were all saying, ‘No way.'” I don’t know if the area where they’re at is … known for burglaries, but she is on TV, so that’s a different level. But they all thought something was kind of shady about it.”

Shortly after Judge’s claim, Wendy’s own co-stars, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, addressed the situation on their podcast, “Reasonably Shady.” During their conversation, the two reality stars expressed their disappointment before questioning the couple’s motives.

“Why? That’s my biggest question?” Bryant said before shifting the focus onto Wendy and Eddie’s three children. “I immediately thought, first of all, huge disappointment. Sad, right, because this is so sad for their children. Guilty or innocent, their parents were removed from their house and brought down to a police station, and charged. They have mugshots, that is, I’m sure, super scary for their children, so sad.”

Following their arrest, a representative from Wendy and Eddie’s team released a statement, assuring the fandom that their clients were doing OK and remained in “good spirits.”

“Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits. They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues. The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead,” the statement read.
