Experts have weighed in on how Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have been able to maintain a youthful appearance after their recent outing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

The couple’s look drew reactions from netizens, with some calling them unrecognizable.

They had appeared on the show as part of Ryan Gosling’s run to promote his new film “Project Hail Mary.”

The actor and actress are 45 and 52, respectively, but appeared far younger than their actual ages.

Unsurprisingly, speculation about plastic surgery quickly surfaced online, and a plastic surgeon, Dr. Sean McNally, has now weighed in on the claims in a conversation with the Daily Mail.

According to the doctor, he saw no “evidence of recent facial surgical procedures” on Mendes. However, he suggested that she may have opted for less invasive treatments such as Botox or fillers, which are often used to reduce signs of aging.

“I do suspect she’s a consistent user of Botox and fillers,” said the plastic surgeon.

“She has little evidence of wrinkles across her forehead, which would be very likely at 52, and I suspect fillers to both her lips and midface given their current volume compared to older pictures,” he added about Mendes.

Analyzing Mendes’ look further, McNally claimed there is also a strong possibility that the actress may have opted for a procedure known as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or BroadBand Light (BBL).

These treatments are described as non-invasive facial procedures that help improve skin appearance by targeting pigmentation, redness, and sun damage, ultimately giving the skin a clearer and more even tone.

“Age spots are a common concern for patients 40+, and while good skin care and sun protection can help, I suspect she’s utilizing IPL or BBL (not technically a laser but filtered light) to help keep those darker skin spots at bay,” the surgeon added.

As for Gosling, McNally suggested that the actor may also have used fillers, similar to what he alleged about his partner.

He claimed the “Fall Guy” star may have specifically targeted his midface with the procedure, likely to restore volume as the effect of aging creeps in.

“This is a common spot of concern for aging since the fat pad drops and shrinks, making people look older and hollow there,” the medical expert emphasized.

In the past, Mendes has admitted her willingness to use cosmetic procedures, especially noting she has a preference for non-invasive options.

“I’m not afraid to try things that are safe, because most of these little treatments, let’s say, are reversible,” she said in an October 2024 interview with the Times.

While she didn’t explicitly confirm having undergone any procedures at the time, her comments about Botox hinted at the possibility that it could be a treatment she has tried.

“If you get Botox, it goes away if you don’t like it. There have been times where I’ve regretted something… and then you just wait it out,” the actress continued.

Meanwhile, Gosling hasn’t made any public admission about having any cosmetic procedures.

On social media, fans of the duo had questions about their facial appearance, claiming that the Hollywood power couple looks different.

A post on X (formerly Twitter), read, “My only qn… what happened to Ryan & Eva’s face? Honey, we really need to stop with the fillers. It’s starting to look a little overdone.”

Another person noted, “I can kind of see it around the cheeks, but it’s not as bad as other ones I’ve seen.”

“She looks odd. Like uncomfortable or nervous. I don’t know. Strange,” a third critic said about Mendes in particular.

However, amid the criticism, one X user said the actress looked wonderful for her age, writing, “She is 52… can you describe to me how she should look? Because she looks amazing.”

Gosling and Mendes’ appearance on “The Tonight Show” came with a special twist of having Mendes’ birthday celebrated in front of the audience.

The moment was a surprise to the actress, who later showed her appreciation to her husband by kissing him after she was serenaded.
