Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been the subject of numerous headlines for weeks following the public’s renewed interest in the Epstein files. His past ties with the late child sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, have earned Andrew much grief.

Once a distinguished prince of the British Royal Family, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lost his titles and honors in October 2025. Months later, he was arrested on February 19, 2026, on suspicion of misconduct in public office following the release of new documents from the Epstein files.

According to industry insiders, many in Hollywood are interested in profiting from Andrew’s downfall by creating projects focusing on his disgrace. The bigwigs gearing up for some action reportedly include Netflix, Amazon, and Disney.

A Disney Studios source told the Daily Mail that they had been “bombarded with screenwriters” interested in creating a story about Andrew’s unprecedented fall from grace. “The race is on in Hollywood to be the first studio to bring out an Andrew film,” the source added.

A separate source noted that Netflix was on the same table, allegedly in discussions with Left Bank Pictures, which owns the rights to “The Crown,” for another show about Andrew’s downfall. They explained that the streaming platform hoped to run a limited series about the ex-prince.

The claims of Andrew’s downfall being turned into entertainment continued, with screenwriter Jeremy Brock echoing similar sentiments. The latter is no stranger to creating projects about the disgraced royal, as he wrote Amazon MGM Studio’s 2024 hit drama, “A Very Royal Scandal.”

The three-part drama series focused on Andrew’s controversial 2019 interview with BBC Newsnight’s Emily Maitlis, where he defended his ties to Epstein. The backlash from the interview, in turn, hastened Andrew’s exit from public royal duties.

Brock told the outlet that Netflix and Amazon executives were definitely interested in making a drama about Andrew’s disgrace, saying: “There will be writers and producers scribbling away right now because it’s such great drama and the most extraordinary story.”

Legal Expert Says The UK Is Taking The Epstein Files’ More Seriously’ Than The US

Brock added that he would love to work on another project based on Andrew’s continued downfall, claiming he was already contemplating a show called “Silence.” He explained that he chose the name because it signified the relationship between Andrew, Epstein, and the Royal Family.

“I’d call it ‘Silence,’ because that’s what Epstein’s money bought him and that’s what the Royal Family traditionally does – say nothing,” Brock said. He later added, “It’s sad, but his tragedy is going to be turned into our entertainment.”

On a more serious note, The Blast reported that attorney James J. Sexton had theorized that Andrew could face life in prison over his connection to Epstein. He noted that the ex-prince could face harsher punishment because the UK “is essentially taking the Epstein charges, one might argue, a little more seriously than the United States.”

Sexton’s theory about Andrew’s possible life imprisonment followed The Blast‘s report about the Royal Family’s hope for the ex-prince’s punishment. Insiders alleged that many in the palace hoped Andrew would end up in prison over his ties to Epstein.

One insider explained that the hope for Andrew’s imprisonment stemmed from the fear of his freedom. “If Andrew walks, he’ll feel vindicated and untouchable,” they said, claiming the former Duke would become more reckless and dangerous to the monarchy.

As stated, Andrew was arrested on February 19 following renewed scrutiny over his ties to the late child sex offender. When new documents from the Epstein files were released, the email exchange between the pair hinted that Andrew had shared confidential trade information during his tenure as a trade envoy.

Ex-Prince Andrew Labeled The ‘Black Sheep’ Of The Royal Family

Andrew’s downfall sparked an interesting column from the UK’s former prime minister, Boris Johnson. The Blast covered the story, reporting that he described the ex-prince as the Royal Family’s “black sheep,” whose disgrace became their silver lining in the long run.

According to Johnson, Andrew had “paradoxically intensified the dignity of the crown” with his disgrace. He argued that his downfall highlighted the positive characters of the other members of the Royal Family, making them seem like the better option over the controversial ex-prince.

Johnson believed Andrew’s downfall stemmed from his inability to “find anything useful or practical to do” for the monarchy. On that note, the former PM believed Andrew “gave in to the appalling temptations that came his way.”
