“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Wendy Osefo is under fire after sharing an Instagram post many in the Bravoverse are labeling tone-deaf. Wendy was arrested alongside her husband, Eddie Osefo, in October 2025 after police alleged the pair reported a burglary that never happened in order to scam their insurance companies. While Wendy and Eddie Osefo have remained tight-lipped about their ongoing legal woes since their arrest, they’ve made the occasional Instagram post, suggesting they’re keeping their heads held high despite the challenges thrown their way. However, fans aren’t buying how the pair is coming across, especially given the allegations suggest their difficulties stem from their personal choices.

On Instagram, Wendy shared a carousel of images of herself in a striking green gown, towering high heels, and with flowing black hair.

She captioned the post, “Thank GOD I don’t look like what I have been through.”

Since being shared over 24 hours ago, the post has garnered nearly 20,000 likes and a flood of supportive comments.

According to a previous report from The Blast, Wendy and Eddie were arrested in early October 2025 and accused of insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and making a false statement to a police officer.

Prosecutors claim the pair filed a fraudulent burglary report and reported hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of missing items to insurance companies for hefty payouts.

Later reports revealed that Maryland law enforcement officers had learned that Wendy and Eddie had a “pattern of excessive spending” to “support a motive in their criminal fraud case.”

Furthermore, they claimed that Wendy and Eddie are weighed down by “substantial debt” and that they found around 40 credit/debit cards “believed to be in company names” allegedly belonging to the reality TV couple during their investigation.

Elsewhere in the legal documents, Wendy and Eddie were accused of using various aliases, including the names Pam Oliver and Eddie Hennessy, to allegedly conceal their identities. The pair were also accused of allegedly lying about using online banking services to make purchases, like Cash App, PayPal, and Venmo.

“The state anticipates seeing purchases as well as returns on the financial records,” prosecutors wrote. “Additionally, the State expects such documentation to show a pattern of excessive spending, supporting motive in this case. The State avers that insurance fraud is a financial crime, and in that, the amount of debt owed by the Osefos, jointly, individually and by the businesses that they own, is highly relevant to their motive.”

On Reddit, a user posted Wendy’s recent Instagram update, asking the “Real Housewives” subreddit to share their thoughts on her post.

It didn’t take long for other users to share heated responses, questioning whether the former university professor was making the wisest decision.

“Yet another HW that desperately needs a new PR team. If she’s found guilty of half the things she’s accused of none of this online activity is gonna age well smh,” someone commented.

Another slammed her for acting like a victim, adding, “Like girl you should look like what you are going through which is CONSEQUENCES.”

“Whatever- she’s acting like a victim,” a third user wrote. “Pam Oliver is a scammer and don’t let her tears fool you!”

Wendy addressed the charges against her at this year’s BravoCon fan convention in Las Vegas. “I read your messages. I can’t respond to everyone, but your love and support means the world to me,” she said.

“You know, it’s an unfortunate situation, and right now I can’t say too much, but I will say when the time is right, I will share my story with everyone, and for now they’re just allegations, so we will continue to push forward,” she added.

Wendy thanked her co-stars, specifically Gizelle Bryant and Tia Glover, for their support during this difficult time. “I am just so grateful for the support I’ve gotten from my cast members, as well as our production team, as well as Bravo. I am overwhelmed by the love so thank you so much,” she said.
